That night, Lewis was certain Athena must have slept with Zaden. Otherwise, why else would Zaden have jumped in and gone all out to help her?
Athena was impressive. She actually managed to hook up with another man on her side.
That was something Lewis could never tolerate.
The veins on his forehead bulged. In a cold voice, he snapped, “Keep looking! Even if you have to dig up every corner, find her!”
“Yes, Mr. Belmont,” Ned answered before leaving.
On his way out, he ran into Nina, who brought chicken soup for Lewis.
Nina stepped into the office, saw the mess on the floor, and her eyes darkened slightly.
Still, she walked forward with a gentle smile and said softly, “Lewis, you haven’t been home for days. Have you been busy with work? Don’t wear yourself out. I made you some chicken soup- it’s good for your health.”
Lewis was already in a bad mood, and running into Nina made it worse. He didn’t even bother to respond to her.
In fact, he felt a wave of irritation. He didn’t want to see her at all.
Ever since that night, he didn’t feel the same about her anymore. The affection he once had was gone. Even after spending a few nights at the office, he didn’t miss her at all.
All he could think about was Athena.
Darn it. Where is that woman hiding?
“I’m busy. Leave it there,” Lewis said coldly.
Nina tried to say something, but Lewis had already made it clear she should leave. His voice was cold and firm. “I have a meeting soon. Go home. And if you have time, spend more of it with Dion. Try to build a better bond with him–he’s not close to you.”
Nina nearly exploded at this.
Dion listened to everything she said. That boy always obeyed her instruction.
But she had to admit–lately, Dion had been slipping out of her control. He seemed to think about Athena all the time.

Just like his father. Both Lewis and Dion couldn’t forget that woman.
Without giving Nina another glance, Lewis walked straight out of the office. The chicken soup Nina brought sat untouched on the desk. Clearly, no one was going to drink it.
Nina bit her lip so hard it almost bled.
In her heart, she swore to herself. At Jerome’s birthday party, I’ll reveal who I really am. Only then can I make sure Lewis stays mine.
Over the next two days, Athena stayed quietly at Harriet’s place. She didn’t even order any takeout, knowing Lewis’s people were still searching for her.
Kit told her the divorce papers had already been served to Lewis, and the court date was set for one month later.
Athena knew Lewis wouldn’t agree to divorce her. But with Jerome’s birthday party coming up in two days, she already had a plan to force him to.
Even though she was alone, she didn’t feel lonely at all.
For the
past few days, Zaden had been bringing Teri over to spend time with Athena.
Today was no different.
After spending a few days together, Teri had grown more attached to Athena. Zaden stood nearby, watching the two of them play together like real mother and daughter. A complex emotion flickered in his eyes.
His family had never stopped arranging blind dates for him. Many women had tried to win Teri’s favor, hoping to get closer to him.
But none of them had ever reached Teri’s heart.
She resisted every woman–except Athena.
“Zaden, aren’t you busy with work?” Athena asked after noticing he was still there. “You can leave Teri here if you want. I’ll watch her until you’re free to pick her up.”
Zaden raised an eyebrow. “It’s the weekend.”
Well, that left Athena speechless.
Just then, the apartment door swung open. Harriet rushed in, slammed it shut, and leaned against it, her face pale with panic. Athena hurried over. “What’s wrong? What happened?”
