Dion clenched his fists tightly and made a silent promise in his heart. He would bring Athena back, no matter what.

A short while later, Zaden walked up to Jerome and greeted him politely. “Mr. Jerome, I wish you long life and good health.”

Then he turned to Teri. “Sweetie, say hello to Mr. Jerome.”

Teri’s eyes showed a hint of nervousness, but she quickly straightened up and said clearly, “Happy birthday, Mr. Jerome. May you stay forever young.”

With that, she handed him her gift.

Coincidentally, Teri’s present was also a painting. The guests around them looked surprised. It turned out the little girl also brought art as a gift.

When Dion saw that Teri had given Jerome a painting, his pride flared up. He looked at Teri in disdain.

Dion’s words sounded harsh and impolite. After all, Teri was a guest. No matter what she it was the thought that counted. His harsh attitude was basically asking the guests to leave.

Her tone sounded like she was scolding Dion, but in truth, her words only belittled Teri. She made it sound like Teri’s work was far beneath Dion’s, turning his rude behavior into a lesson about modesty.

Teri raised her head and met Dion’s eyes. Calmly, she asked, “How do you know my picture isn’t as good as yours? Maybe your painting isn’t as good as mine.”

Dion was instantly offended.

He shouted, “You’re not better than me! You can’t even compare! Your painting is garbage!”

Alaric and his family had been waiting for just this.

Now that the perfect chance had fallen right into their laps, it would be a shame not to take advantage of it.

One of them immediately spoke up, pretending to sound fair. “Well, there’s only one way to know whose painting is better. Why don’t we open both and take a look? That way, Dion can see for himself how much he really knows—maybe he’ll learn that there’s always someone better out there.”

Jerome’s second son, Xavier Belmont, was Lewis’s father. The family loved to show off Dion’s talent in painting.

If Teri beats Dion tonight, it would be beyond embarrassing for them.

Alaric and his family snickered to themselves.

“Afraid Bridget might make excuses, they kept pushing her.

“Bridget, come on, this is a good thing. Don’t stop it. You aren’t worried Dion might lose, are you?”

“Mom, don’t say that,” Tristan added with a smirk. “Maybe Aunt Bridget really is scared.”

Bridget had been cornered. Her face went cold. Now she couldn’t back out, and she couldn’t push forward either.

What if Dion really lost?

Guests leaned in, eager for drama.

“Looks like that boy from the Belmonts is too cowardly to compete,” someone said. “And if he loses here, that would be so embarrassing.”

Dion was still a kid. He couldn’t take the taunts. His cheeks turned red.

“Fine! Let’s do it. I won’t lose,” he snapped.

Teri tilted her head up at Zaden. “Dad, can I go up against him?”
