From Betrayal to Brilliance Her Rise to a New Life
Chapter 79 A Lie Unraveled
To Harriet, divorce was already a victory.
Once the tie was cut, no amount of begging from Lewis would matter.

Athena narrowed her eyes. She asked, “That video … was it real? Did someone actually film me saving Lewis?”
That sounded impossible.
Harriet gave a sharp laugh and tossed her phone onto Athena’s lap. “See for yourself.”
Athena opened it and found the same clip Harriet had shown Lewis earlier.
At first, everything looked normal.
For a moment, she even wondered if someone had truly caught her on camera. The woman in the footage looked a lot like her.
But the longer she watched, the tighter her brows knit. When the video ended, she stated firmly, “That’s not me.”
“Of course it’s not. What were you thinking? Do you really believe anyone could dig up an eight–year–old video that easily? That clip doesn’t exist.
“Let me tell you the truth. I found someone with a similar build and faked it. The funny part is Lewis couldn’t even tell it wasn’t you.”
Athena stared at her in shock.
For a moment, she didn’t know what to say.
Harriet’s scheme was so airtight that Athena couldn’t help but admire her. So many years had passed, and Harriet had grown into someone sharp, capable, and bold.
Under Athena’s wide–eyed gaze, Harriet suddenly felt a bit guilty, even embarrassed.
The truth was, she hadn’t planned any of this. She didn’t have such genius instincts. It was all Zaden.
Her mind flashed back to last night.
She had been preparing to follow the normal court process, when suddenly Zaden called.
From then on, every step she took today–every word she spoke–had been Zaden’s plan.

And it had worked. Athena and Lewis were divorced.
Now Athena was free. And Harriet could finally start pushing her toward Zaden without holding
back.
What would Athena think if she knew the truth?
After some thought, Harriet decided not to tell her.
Athena hated owing people favors. If she knew Zaden had done so much, she would only feel burdened. It was better to let her believe it was Harriet’s win.
Harriet pushed the thought aside and grinned. “Anyway, today was a success. Shouldn’t we celebrate?”
Athena’s mind shifted away from her doubts and stopped pressing.
She smiled, a rare, genuine smile. “Alright.”
“I’ll call Teri. She should come too!” Harriet pulled the car to the curb and already had her phone out before Athena could stop her.
While Athena felt light and free, Lewis’s world was anything but.
He returned to Nina’s villa.
Nina knew he had gone to court with Athena today. She had wanted to tag along but feared it would anger him, so she stayed behind.
Now she waited in agony, uncertain if the divorce had gone through—or if Lewis had changed his mind.
She had been restless since morning, pacing and checking the clock, waiting for news.
When Lewis finally walked in, she rushed to him. “Lewis, how did it go with Athena? Did you get the divorce?”
Lewis’s eyes fell on her.
Harriet’s words echoed in his mind.
The one who saved him back then… was Athena.
A flash of rage crossed his face, but he smothered it quickly. His gaze stayed on Nina as he said flatly, “I divorced Athena.”.
