Nina’s very presence disgusted him.

Lewis took a deep breath and shot her a cold look, his eyes flashing with a bloodthirsty intensity that sent chills down her spine.
Finished
Ever since Bridget pushed Lewis to marry Nina, she had latched onto the opportunity, clinging to him and trying every trick to get what she wanted.
This was her big chance.
But Lewis was cold as ice toward her, looking at her like she was something vile.
Yet there was a time when Lewis had been gentle and attentive, giving her whatever she wanted.
Nina felt wronged and angry. It only made her more determined to win Lewis back from Athena.
“Lewis, I meant what I said before. Once you get what you want, I’ll leave on my own. You’ll be free then.”
Lewis’s hand tightened involuntarily. Deep inside, a certain thought slowly started to form.
To gain something you want, you have to give something up.
He knew what he wanted, and there were paths he was destined to walk.
Even if Athena ended up hating him or blaming him, so be it.
He was doing it all just to win Athena back in a better way. A steely glint appeared in his eyes.
A moment later, his voice was low and hoarse as he said, “All right, then.”
If he did what his family wanted and married Nina, he could steady things and gain the Belmonts‘ power. Then he’d finally be able to compete with Zaden,
Nina was overjoyed, almost unable to believe what she was hearing.
He actually agreed?
He agreed to marry me!
“Lewis, this is great! I promise I’ll be the best Mrs. Belmont ever.” Nina clung to his arm, trying to nestle into his embrace.

But he shoved her away.

He said coldly, “Nina, I don’t love you. Marrying you is just a temporary solution. You’d better know your place and don’t hope for things you shouldn’t expect.”
The smile froze on Nina’s face.
But she quickly pushed down all her feelings. As long as she could marry Lewis, she believed he would come around and accept her one day.
Once she became Mrs. Belmont, she would never give that place back to Athena.
Lewis and Nina left quietly.
They quickly got their marriage license at city hall. As soon as it was done, Lewis told Nina to behave herself. Then he headed straight back to work, not feeling a bit of joy.
Nina, on the other hand, was ecstatic. She wanted to announce it to the whole world–especially to Athena.
Now Lewis was her man.
Meanwhile, Athena was still having lunch with Zaden.
When they were almost finished, Athena dabbed at her mouth with a napkin. As she was about to say goodbye, her phone rang.
She apologized and answered the call.
“Oh my god! Athena, guess what I just saw!” Harriet’s voice exploded from the other end, nearly making Athena jump.
Athena frowned in confusion. “What did you see?”
“Here’s the thing…Harriet started rambling on, “I was at city hall with a client, and I saw Lewis and Nina there! Those two scumbags must have gone there to get married!
“The day you guys got divorced, he kept saying things weren’t over between you two. Leven worried he’d try something, but now he’s off getting a marriage license with that fake bitch Nina. It’s hilarious…”
Athena was stunned for a moment.
Lewis and Nina got married?
