The moment Tiffany spoke, the lecture hall erupted in gasps. “Really? So Alicia actually swiped Tiffany’s painting?”

“No way two people could have the exact same painting style. Tiffany is the Sweetheart Queen. No one else could pull off a piece like that,” another chimed in.

“Alicia is so shady. Stealing someone else’s art? That explains it. Everyone else’s work is framed, but hers is just stuck on some paper. Bet she was too scared to show it off because it’s stolen,” someone else speculated.

“Jeez, can they take their drama home or something? It’s a big day, and now we’ve got to deal with this mess. Honestly, the school should just kick one of them out,” a student grumbled.

“I vote for kicking Alicia out. She’s got no shame. If she can’t paint, why even enter the competition? How can she steal someone else’s work? Does she even care what people think anymore?” another student added.

For a moment, the room was filled with shouts and insults.

Tiffany’s lips curled into a self–satisfied smirk as she watched Alicia. ‘You brought this on yourself, Alicia,‘ she thought.

The teachers exchanged frowns and turned to Bruce. “Mr. Sherman, a student like this really needs to be dealt with seriously,” one of them said.

Bruce fixed his gaze on Alicia. “Alicia, stealing someone else’s artwork is a serious breach of school rules. I’ll be speaking with the school board about what happens next…”

Before Bruce could finish, Alicia suddenly let out a laugh, striking, brazen, and edged with undeniable chill.

The sudden flash of her smile left everyone stunned, a chill crawling down their spines. Bruce was so taken aback that he couldn’t even finish his sentence.

Suddenly, Alicia broke her silence and spoke up, “Tiffany, are you saying you just finished your painting yesterday? And you only started it three days ago?”

Tiffany couldn’t figure out why Alicia was asking, but since she’d already said it, she just nodded. “Yes.”

Alicia’s smile grew even sharper, her confidence almost glowing. She pulled out her phone and opened her email. “You only started painting three days ago and finished it just yesterday, but…”

She paused for a moment to let the suspense build and then said, “I emailed this painting to Mr. West a week ago.”

Her words dropped a bombshell. Everyone in the lecture hall was left speechless.

Edward arched an eyebrow, pulled out his phone, and tapped open his email app.

His inbox was overflowing with art submissions from every direction. Artists everywhere wanted his attention, but he’d been so busy lately and he hadn’t even had time to check them.

Upon hearing Alicia, he began to sift through his cluttered inbox, on the lookout for that specific email from a week prior. After a long while, he finally laid his eyes on the one she had referenced and tapped it open. There was the painting.

Edward let out a soft chuckle, gave Alicia a knowing wink, and offered a nod. “Spot on. There it is, the email with the painting attached. I got it a week ago.”

With Edward as the ultimate arbiter, there was no wiggle room for doubt. Alicia’s claim was rock solid.

Tiffany was seething inside. She had never anticipated that Alicia would have sent the painting to Edward so far in advance. She thought, ‘Alicia was planning to compete at school, so why on earth would she email Mr. West beforehand? What was her game?

‘Was she actually guarding against me? But how could she have possibly guessed I’d pull something like this?‘

Tiffany’s mind raced, spiraling deeper into confusion.

And all those whispers swirling around were on the verge of pushing her over the edge. She felt like her head was about to burst from all the drama.

She overheard someone muttering, “Alicia actually painted that? Could it be that she’s the Sweetheart Queen who’s been making waves online?”

“What if Tiffany was the one who stole Alicia’s art?”

“Is Tiffany really out to get Alicia again? Why can’t she just leave her own sister alone? This drama is getting out of hand. No one wants to deal with this. With an attitude like hers, she’s never going to cut it as Mr. West’s student.”

Tiffany couldn’t stomach the outcome. She glanced up at the teachers, only to find them staring back at her, their faces etched with disappointment.

Her vision blurred, her eyes rolled back, and she blacked out.

Just then, Maria emerged from the restroom and saw Tiffany collapsing. She sprinted over and caught Tiffany just in time.

The moment Maria saw Alicia standing opposite Tiffany, she didn’t care about the facts and immediately launched into an attack on Alicia. “You bitch! Are you bullying Tiffany again? What has Tiffany ever done to you? Why do you always go after her? Are you just born to be mean?”

Maria raised her hand to strike Alicia, but Alicia effortlessly sidestepped. At that moment, the school board rushed over, stepping between Alicia and Maria. They said to Maria, “Mrs. Lawrence, please take Tiffany to the hospital first.”

Maria stormed off with Tiffany, not even glancing back.

But everyone was still puzzled, wondering, ‘Why did her work look so much like the Sweetheart Queen’s? Was it just a wild coincidence, or was there some hidden secret?‘

This question had everyone talking. Not just the other students, but even the school board and art teachers were all looking at Alicia, waiting for her to explain.

Alicia was ready to clear things up, but Tiffany’s fainting spell had thrown a wrench in the plans. With Tiffany out of the picture, Alicia couldn’t prove anything on her own. All she could do was wait for another chance to tell the whole story.

To everyone’s surprise, Edward didn’t ask any more questions. He just told them to keep the selection going.

The other artists who hadn’t shown their work yet had pretty much given up. With the Sweetheart Queen showing up, they thought they had no chance at all.
