Her Revenge From Shadow to Sunlight novel Chapter 145

Chapter 145

After Tiffany left, the reporters immediately flocked to Alicia.

“Miss Alicia, you’re the real Sweetheart Queen! Are you still going to drop your new artwork on that account?” one of the reporters asked.

Alicia looked at that reporter and smiled. “Honestly, I’m not the Sweetheart Queen. Sure, I painted those pictures, but that account? It’s not mine at all. I won’t be posting anything there from now on.”

Noticing the flood of questions in the live stream, Leafie turned back to Alicia. “Miss Alicia, a question from the Sweetheart Queen’s growing fanbase: do you intend to establish your own official platform to share your art going forward?”

Alicia offered a polite, non-committal smile. “Thank you for the interest, but I have no plans to open an art account at this time.”

Just as she finished, a new voice cut through the crowd. “Don’t decide so rashly,” the man declared. “My father, Edward, came here today with the express purpose of offering his apprenticeship to the artist known as the ‘Sweetheart Queen.’ The identity was a fraud, but the talent was real. That talent is yours. Therefore, it is only logical that you assume the title and the apprenticeship that accompanies it. It is a matter of rightful

succession.”

Alicia looked up to see a stern-faced man in his forties push through the crowd. His tone was sharp, like a command, and his gaze made it clear he didn’t fully approve of her.

Before Alicia could retort, Edward swiftly moved to her side, placing a subtle but firm hand on her shoulder. He shot a quelling glare at his son. “Silas,” he said, his voice low but carrying, “that is enough. I admire the artist, not the brand name. If my chosen apprentice, Alicia, wishes to share her work with the world online, that is her choice to make. If she prefers to keep her art to herself, that is also her prerogative. I will not force a title upon her that was born from a lie, nor will I command her path.”

His gaze swept over the assembled reporters, his statement final. “Thank you all for coming today. The search is over. Alicia will be my first and last student. That concludes our proceedings. Let’s go, Alicia.”

With that, he led the way out.

Alicia paused for a moment, offering the crowd of reporters a final, genuine smile. “Thank you all for your hard work today,” she said.

Then, with a grace that was entirely her own, she followed her new mentor out.

Her smile was dazzling, a radiance that outshone everything around her, while her eyes sparkled with a brightness that seemed to contain a universe of their own.

Leafie’s live stream was going wild with screams.

[Oh my god, her looks are unreal! I’m turning into her face stan right now!]

[Seriously, this is a true gorgeous artist! Beautiful and talented! Compared to Alicia, Tiffany’s whole doesn’t even stand a chance.]

II’m so gonna wait for Alicia outside, beg for her autograph, and snap a selfie with her!!

Me too! Me too!]

A palpable wave of anticipation had seized the fans waiting outside; every gaze was locked on the hotel doors, yearning for a glimpse of Alicia.

However, the moment she and Edward stepped out of the Crystal Room, the hotel manager was poised to act. He swiftly ushered them through a private corridor for a quiet meal, later ensuring their discreet exit in a secured vehicle, expertly evading the gathered crowd.

When it became clear their idol would not be appearing, the collective disappointment detonated online. The digital sphere became the new arena for their passion.

Social media feeds and the remnants of Leafie’s livestream were utterly inundated by the Sweetheart Queen’s followers. A vocal minority raged against Tiffany’s deception, but the overwhelming sentiment was one of profound remorse.

[I was such a clown for stanning that faker. She built her whole online persona just by stealing someone else’s art-gross, now that I think about it.]

[Honestly, I need to get my eyes checked. Why did I ever stan Tiffany?]

[Guys, seriously, stop blaming yourselves. How were we supposed to know she was posting Alicia’s paintings as her own? None of us even saw Tiffany in person-we were all just here for the artist. It was always about the art. Now that we know who’s really behind it, that’s whose side we’re on!]

[I totally agree with the person above. This isn’t the time for us to tear each other apart. Our idol got treated so badly-shouldn’t we stand up for her?]

[Absolutely! We gotta get justice for our idol!]

All those fans Tiffany used to show off have completely turned against her. They’re calling her out everywhere now-spamming every group chat and platform they can, making sure everyone knows what happened today.

The Lawrence family instantly became the target of all the gossip, and Lawrence Group’s stock took a

nosedive.

Hugh slumped at his desk, kneading his throbbing temples as frustration simmered within him. He was dangerously close to losing control. The memory of Tiffany telling him about Alicia leaving a painting in the basement resurfaced with painful clarity, bringing back the unease he’d felt at the time. He had sensed something off about that painting, some inconsistency he couldn’t quite pinpoint. Now, regret washed over him, cold and heavy. He should have examined that painting himself.

But exhaustion had clouded his judgment, and he had let it slide. Now, catastrophe had struck.

What truly ignited his rage was his eldest son, Aaron. The idiot had promised to take full responsibility, only to snitch on Tiffany when the stakes were highest. A fresh wave of fury seized Hugh. He snatched his glass and hurled it to the ground, watching it shatter. “Total moron,” he muttered into the silence.

The only sliver of consolation was that Aaron hadn’t sold him out to the media-a pathetically small mercy in

the grand scheme of things

And the scheme was dire. The company’s stock was in freefall. trusted partners were fleeing, and the financial Jesses were mounting by the hour Just as he tried to grapple with the crisis, his wife, Maria, descended upon him. She clung to his arm, her body wracked with sobs. “Hugh, Tiffany’s our only girl! You can’t just let her be destroyed: Mease, you have to do something!

Her voice cracked into a wail. “Our daughter was stolen from us at eight-she only just came home, and now this? Why must her life be so hard? I can’t bear to see her suffer!”

Hugh couldn’t take any more of her tears. He let out a long sigh. “Alright, stop crying. I’ll figure something out and send Tiffany overseas for a while. Once the scandal dies down, we’ll bring her home.”

Maria’s sobs only intensified, a raw, wounded sound. “Send her away? She’s only been home for six months! Hugh, there must be another way. Can’t we protect her here, as a family?”

There is no other way! Don’t you see? This scandal is a wildfire, and it’s consuming everything!” Hugh’s anger finally erupted, the pressure of years spent meticulously building his family’s legacy now collapsing around him. Two of his children were on the brink of ruin.

He leaned forward, gritting his teeth and growling. “Let me be perfectly clear, Maria. Kidnapping is not a slap on the wrist. So, what will it be? Do I send her abroad, or do we let her go to prison?”

At the mention of prison, Maria instantly clammed up, not daring to say another word.

Shaken, she stumbled out of the study, only to find Adam standing like a sentinel in the hallway, his

expression stormy.

Maria had been a pampered heiress all her life-never had to worry about a thing, just coasting along easy. But now everything was falling apart: her husband was swamped, her eldest son had been taken in by the cops, her daughter was getting roasted online, and the other two sons? Off God-knows-where, never even home these days.
