Her Revenge From Shadow to Sunlight novel Chapter 160

Hah, you don’t even know how to paint, yet you dare run a gallery? No wonder the art in here is just a bunch of trash, the woman sneered coldly. If you don’t know anything about art, just stop fooling people and shut this place down.

Sara couldn’t take it anymore. I may not be an artist, but we have real artists here in the gallery. What gives you the right to say that about us?

The woman gave a chilly laugh. Alright, if you’ve really got some artists here, show me. I want to see for myself.

The man rubbed his forehead. Eleanor, let’s just go home. I’m starving.”

Eleanor shot him a sharp glance. Starving? You ate so much for breakfast. How can you be hungry already?

The man gave a bitter smile. Didn’t you promise me you’d try to control your temper? No more outbursts?

I’m not throwing a tantrum,Eleanor retorted coldly. I just can’t stand people like thisclueless about art, yet they open a gallery. They’re bringing down the entire art world.

Alicia, overhearing some of their conversation, walked over. Hello. Is there anything I can help you with?

Eleanor turned around, and when she saw Alicia’s face, she froze for a moment. Something about it seemed familiar, but she couldn’t quite place where she had seen it before.

Eleanor truly hadn’t realized it. She didn’t see the resemblance between Alicia’s features and her own, but the man beside her saw it instantly, as standing together made the resemblance clear.

The man glanced at Alicia, visibly surprised, but didn’t say a word.

Alicia didn’t think much of it. Their noses and mouths were a bit similar, but their face shapes and eyes were different, and their styles clashed. So, it didn’t create a strong overall resemblance.

After staring at Alicia for a few seconds, Eleanor finally asked, And who are you?

Alicia blinked, then realized who she was looking at. If her memory was right, this woman was none other than Eleanor Quill, a oncefamous artist. No wonder she was so critical of the artshe was a true expert.

Eleanor had been a giant in the art world, her fame rivaling that of Edward. Her paintings were considered priceless, with some of them fetching astronomical amounts at auctions.

But five years ago, she suddenly announced she was quitting painting and vanished from the scene without explanation.

Alicia never expected to run into her here today. If she could make a connection with such a renowned artist, it would definitely help the gallery’s reputation.

Alicia was secretly thrilled; she flashed Eleanor a soft smile. I’m one of the gallery ownersif there’s anything you want to talk about, feel free to tell me.

Eleanor looked Alicia up and down. Sara quickly stepped behind Alicia, showing her support, and so did Chloe and Zoe.

The man sighed quietly, then Eleanor turned to Alicia. You’re the owner? Tell me, can you paint?

Just a little,Alicia replied.

A little?Eleanor scoffed. And you think you can run a gallery? Take a look around. Do you honestly think this junk counts as art?

She pointed at two paintings on the wall. This one should have shadows, but there are none. And that one- what is it even supposed to be?

The lines are a mess, and the colors are just slapped together. This isn’t even abstract arthow did it end up like this?

Alicia looked at the paintings Eleanor was pointing to. They happened to be works by two of the artists who had already terminated their contracts with the gallery.

She nodded in agreement. You’re right, these paintings are not good. That’s why we ended our collaboration with those artists, and we’ll be taking their works down soon.

Eleanor had expected Alicia to argue and try to defend the paintings, but she was completely caught off guard by her straightforward answer. She was completely at a loss for words.

Alicia gave an apologetic smile. Sorry you had to see such bad art. To make it up to you, we’ll give you one of our paintings for free.

Eleanor laughed bitterly. A free painting? None of your work is worth my time. I’ve seen at least a dozen pieces, and those two are awful. The others are barely tolerable, but none of them are worth calling good.

Sara couldn’t hold back anymore. None of them? You haven’t even seen everything we have yet, and you’re already talking like that. Come here, I’ll show you a painting, and then we’ll see if you still feel the same.

Eleanor raised an eyebrow. Fine, let’s see if you have anything worth showing. With that, she followed Sara over to one of the paintings.

The man quickly followed, and Alicia, Chloe, and Zoe all tagged along as well.

Zoe whispered, Do you think Sara’s taking her to see Alicia’s painting?

Chloe nodded. Yeah, I think so.

Chloe wasn’t a fan of how Eleanor acted all arrogant and nitpicky. Sure, some of their art might not be top- tier, but as a customer, Eleanor could simply choose not to buy. There was no need to be so rude.

Chloe figured it would be pretty satisfying to use Alicia’s painting to show Eleanor up for once.

Zoe, still concerned, asked Alicia, What if she actually likes your painting? You’re not seriously going to give it to her for free, right?
