If my guess is right, Tiffany must think Donna already spilled everything to me. Let her make her moveI’m more than ready, Alicia thought, waiting patiently for Tiffany’s next step.

But Alicia knew just how ruthless Tiffany was. She thought Donna definitely deserved to be taught a lesson, but she couldn’t help worrying that Tiffany might take things too farsomeone might get hurt, or worse. That thought left her uneasy, so she decided to stick close to Donna, just in case.

If things looked like they were about to blow up, she could always call the police.

Tiffany didn’t waste any time. After class that afternoon, Donna hurried out of school to her parttime job at a fastfood restaurant.

As usual, she changed into her uniform and made a quick trip to the restroom before starting her shiftby the time she clocked in, she’d be way too busy to sneak away again.

She walked into the restroom and spotted two girls washing their hands. Not giving them a second glance, she headed for a stall. But before she could reach it, the two girls grabbed her by the arms, pinning her in place.

Donna’s eyes widened in shock, and just as she opened her mouth to scream, one of them clamped a hand tightly over her lips. Together, they dragged her into the stall.

Quick as lightning, they slapped duct tape over her mouthand then their fists began raining down on her, merciless as raindrops in a thunderstorm.

Donna tried to scream, but her mouth was sealed shutall she could do was let out muffled, desperate whimpers.

It felt like her whole body was being smashed to single cell was screaming in pain.

Finally, the two girls stopped. Donna thought it was over, but then one of them suddenly pulled a sewing kit out of her pocket and started threading a needle.

Donna stared at them in horror, her eyes wide with terror.

One girl pinned her down, while the other brought the needle toward her mouth, like she was about to sew it shut.

Donna was utterly terrified, thrashing around with everything she had, panic surging through her veins as she tried to break free.

The girl with the needle snapped,. Seriously, could you just hold still? The more you thrash, the worse the stitching gets. Just stay putonce I’m finished, I’ll take a pic, send it off to whoever hired us, and we’re done. Trust me, it’ll hurt a whole lot less if you work with me.

Donna frantically shook her head, desperate to scream, Who paid you for this? Why are you doing this to

me?

But no words came outher mouth was sealed tight. All she could do was sob, tears pouring down her cheeks, wishing she could beg them to let her go.

The shorthaired blonde girl sighed, sounding genuinely fed up. Come on, quit crying. We all do what we gotta do for cash, right? It’s not personalyou just ended up on the wrong side of the person paying us. You used to help her out. Then you screwed her over

The other girl yanked her arm. Shut up.”

The blonde girl quickly fell silent, gripping Donna even harder.

Donna’s mind raced as it dawned on her. It’s Tiffany. It has to be Tiffany,’ she thought in despair.

She’d only helped Tiffany out latelyno one else.

Lost in her thoughts, Donna stopped struggling so much. Suddenly, the needle pierced through her lower lip, then stabbed out through her upper lip. The pain hit so hard, her brain just flatlinedall that existed was

pure agony.

She tried to force her mouth open, but the second she moved, the pain got even worse. Frozen in fear, she didn’t dare move again. Then came the second stitch, then the third, then the fourtheach one driving the agony deeper.

Her entire mouth was numb now, the pain so overwhelming she felt like she might black out at any second.

At last, someone started pounding on the restroom door. Donna wanted to scream for help, but all that came out were muffled sobs. The knocking persisted, and the shorthaired blonde muttered under her breath, Someone’s here.

Then a voice called out from outside, loud and urgent. You need to let our staff out right now! I’ve already called the police!

The two girls shot each other a quick, panicked glance, released Donna, flung open the stall door, and dashed out together.

Alicia smoothly sidestepped, avoiding them as they rushed past her.

She took one look at Donna, made no move to help, dialed 911, and walked off without another word.

Donna could barely make out a blurry silhouette turning away before she passed out completely.

Two days later, Donna came back to school, her lips swollen up like sausages.

Everyone at school knew she’d been beaten up. The gossip was that she must’ve gotten on the wrong side of someone outside.

Donna confronted Tiffany and demanded, Why did you do this to me?

Tiffany didn’t even try to hide it. She snorted with disdain, I’ve been paying you, haven’t I? You betrayed me, and you dare to ask me why?

Donna laughed, What is this, you’ve been bingewatching palace dramas or something? Betrayal? Come on. It’s just businesscash for services, that’s all.

her laptop, furrowing her brow as she said, Look, every single time I hit send, it says timeout: Donna? Hey, Donna?

Donna snapped back, saying, Listen, Alicia, I’ve seen everything that went down on the forum. But honestly, the person behind it already got taken care of. No need to stir things up again. If you keep chasing this, the higherups at the school might think you’re just being petty. Sometimes, it’s better to just let things slide and not make a big fuss about it.

Alicia looked up at Donna with a gentle smile. But Donna, these trolls are just following orders, just like Nora.. If we get them talking, we’ll finally see who’s really calling the shots behind all this.”

Donna asked, Why not just go ask Nora?

Alicia shrugged. Can’t do thatshe’s already been kicked out and probably took the cash. But these trolls are in a different situation, you know? What they did isn’t as serious, so they won’t get tossed out. If they just say who told them to do it, they could maybe make things right. That’s why I figure they’re our best shot at finding out what’s really happening.

Donna pressed her lips together and asked, Do you already know who told Nora to post those things?

Alicia shot a quick look over at the nearby tree, where Tiffany was surrounded by a group of classmates- though she kept sneaking glances their way.

Alicia smiled and said, Some people are guessing it was my sister, Tiffany. What do you think, Donna?

Donna hesitated, Your sisterI really can’t say for sure.”

Alicia glanced at her laptop and sighed, Still won’t go through.

She stood up, raising her voice a little. Forget it, I’m not even gonna bother posting it. I’ll just go talk to President Lee about this myself. Thanks for telling me all this, Donna.”

With that, she grabbed her laptop and walked off.

As Alicia rounded the corner, she looked back at Tiffanysure enough, Tiffany was sending Donna a frosty death stare.

Alicia let out a soft chuckle.

Obviously, Alicia was never really going to go talk to Derek. Like Donna said, if she kept dragging this drama on, everyone at school would just peg her as a petty troublemaker who never lets things drop and loves to stir up drama. Not really the vibe she wanted following her around campus.

Honestly, that post was never meant to go out in the first place. Alicia had purposely gotten Hank to mess with the forum behind the scenes so it’d always glitch and time out whenever she tried to send it.
