Chapter 134
Alpha Ethan’s POV
I walked back to where the car was parked as I drove back to the pack house, anger bubbling beneath my skin like lava waiting to erupt.
That bastard. He had the audacity to deceive me for six years.
To keep her locked away from me with secrets, lies, and manipulations. Her father, Alpha Andrew, should count himself lucky I didn’t rip his throat out tonight.
I clenched my fists as I moved through the quiet grounds; the night air did little to soothe the fire raging inside me.
The guards behind me remained silent, sensing my mood, their footsteps were barely audible on the stone path. My mind replayed the confrontation over and over his pathetic excuses, his stammering denials, and the guilt in his eyes when I mentioned Raven’s suffering.
How dare he call himself her father?
I was seconds from breaking his jaw when the guards stepped between us. But I made myself clear. I told him if he ever tried to interfere in her life again, if he ever tried to hurt her in any way, I would make him regret the day he was born.
He tried to play victim, blamed it all on Raven and manipulation, coward, he didn’t deserve to say her name.
I reached the pack house steps and took a deep breath, the rage still simmering beneath the surface. I just wanted to go inside, clean up, and maybe throw a chair or two to release the pressure building in my chest.
But as I reached for the door, I saw her.
Raven.
She stood in the hallway like a phantom, her arms crossed, her face unreadable in the soft glow of the pack house lights, her long hair framed her face, slightly damp at the ends, like she had just come from a shower. Her eyes, though tired, were alert and locked directly on mine.
I froze.
“Raven?” breathed, stunned. “What are you doing here?”
She didn’t move. “The real question is, where are you coming from?”
Shit.
I stepped back slightly, caught off guard. “That’s not important.”
She gave a cold chuckle. “You think going to my father and threatening him will make everything right between us?”
“How… how did you know that?” I asked, my voice barely steady.
“I have my ways,” she said, brushing past the question. “But that doesn’t matter. What matters is you went behind my back to stir up a fight that isn’t yours.”
“He is the reason behind everything!” I snapped. He”
“It has nothing to do with him anymore,” she cut in sharply. “You don’t get to make that choice for me.”
I moved forward, trying to close the distance between us. “I just wanted to protect you.”
“You think two wrongs make a right?” she asked bitterly. “You think being like him, threatening him, and hurting others for me will undo everything you’ve done to me?”

Chapter 134
“I’m not like him,” I growled.
She laughed darkly, “Aren’t you? You think I haven’t noticed how much alike you two are? Controlling, angry, manipulative. You even used my bald ta chain me to your side. At least he never pretended to love me.”
The words cut through me like knives.
“I deserve that,” I said quietly. “I know I do. I’ve made mistakes terrible mistakes, but I didn’t go to him to impress you. I went because I couldn’t breathe knowing the one who hurt you was still out there walking free.
I couldn’t stand the idea that someone like that… someone who calls himself your father, might still have some twisted hold over you
Her lips trembled for a second, but she held her composure. “And what? You think that makes you some kind of savior now? You think now that you know the truth about me, about what Olivia did, you can just use mate words to win me back?”
“No,” I said softly, stepping closer. “But I can try.”
She shook her head, backing away from me like my presence physically pained her.
“You used me, Ethan. You took away my dignity, my will, my name… You forced me into a deal no woman should ever have to make. And now that the truth has come out, now that you finally see me… you think love can fix this?”
“I never stopped seeing you, Raven,” I said, my voice breaking slightly. “Even when I pretended not to. Even when I buried every feeling I had under duty, pride, and anger.
It was you I saw every night when I closed my eyes. And every time I pushed you away or lashed out, it was because I was angry… with myself.”
Tears welled in her eyes, but she blinked them away furiously. “Don’t say that. Don’t you dare try to turn this into something romantic.”
“I’m not. I’m just saying… I’ll do anything to earn your trust again. Even if it takes the rest of my life.”
She scoffed. “Well, you better start trying. I’ll be watching.”
“‘Cause the Alpha I know will never do anything for a maid,” she said, her tone low.
“Don’t say that,” I cut her off almost immediately. “You are not a maid to me. You are my mate. Fated one.”
She turned without another word and walked past me, her shoulder brushing mine slightly as she passed.
But I grabbed her by the arms, turning her to face me as we were inches apart. And without thinking, I kissed her.
It was slow at first. She was resistant at first. But then she kissed me back. As I increased my pace, she moaned out in pleasure. I deepened the kiss, and fuck, she was so sweet. It had been so long since I’d had a taste of her, and it was killing me.
All of a sudden, she pulled away.
