Mated To The Alpha King (Raven and Ethan) novel Chapter 136

Chapter 136

Chapter 136

Alpha Ethan’s POV

I stormed out of the hallway, anger bubbling so fiercely beneath my skin I could barely breathe.

My fists clenched at my sides, my jaw tightened, and the pounding in my head grew louder with every step I took.

This was all Olivia’s fault, every goddamned thing. If she hadn’t pretended to be my mate for the past six fucking years, none of this would be happening.

Raven would still look at me without hate swimming in her eyes. I wouldn’t be questioning every fucking decision I’d made. And I sure as hell wouldn’t be losing my mind the way I was now.

The guards standing outside Olivia’s locked room straightened at my approach. They took one look at my face and didn’t utter a single word as they opened the door.

She was sitting on the bed, her face pale, her eyes slightly sunken, as if she hadn’t slept properly since our last encounter.

Good, She didn’t deserve peace. Not after everything she’d done.

But the moment I saw her sitting there like some delicate victim, I saw red. The rage clawed its way up my throat and exploded as I marched toward her.

Without a word, I slapped her across the face. Hard.

Her head snapped sideways, her hair flying across her cheek from the impact. Her body swayed from the force, and she gasped.

You’re pleased now, aren’t you?I growled, chest heaving. You and that coward of a father of yours. You’re both happy now, right?

Don’t you dare call my father that, she spat, slowly turning her face back to meet my glare.

I laughed bitterly, the sound cracking in the silence like lightning. Oh, I will. I’ll call him that again and again.

A coward who sold his daughter’s soul and manipulated a whole damn kingdom to serve his greed. And you,I pointed a shaking finger at her, you’re no

better.

Her lips quivered, but not from fear. No, Olivia was too damn proud to ever fear me. Even now.

I did what I did,she said coolly, because Raven isn’t worthy of being mated to an Alpha King. She’s filth, a mistake, you deserve better.

You shut your damn mouth!I roared. You don’t get to speak about her.

You don’t get to decide who’s worthy of me! You are the one who lied! You are the one who stole six years of my life! She was my mate all along, and you

robbed both of us of that bond!

She’s your halfsister,she hissed.

My heart skipped a beat, but I recovered quickly. Half or not, she’s still more human than you’ve ever been. At least she has a heart. Youyou’re just

evil. A witch“,

Well, for the record,” she cut in sharply, standing now, her voice bitter and cold, I’m not the only witch here. You also hurried her in ways she couldn’t forget. I froze.

What the hell are you talking about?I whispered.

  1. 11.

If you hadn’t hurt Raven so badly, getting her back now wouldn’t be this difficult, she continued.

But no, you had to treat her like trash. Like nothing. Like your little toy. You think you’re a saint now? That all of a sudden you can rescue her and she’ll come running into your arms?

Chapter 136

The silence that followed was thick with truth.

I saw the smirk on Olivia’s face as my expression faltered. My chest tightened painfully. I hated her, and yet, the worst part was knowing she was right.

If I had treated Raven better, it had looked at her once and seen the woman who saved my life all those years ago instead of using her, maybe just maybe I wouldn’t be in this mess.

Raven wouldn’t hate me.

She wouldn’t be slipping further away from me each time I tried to reach her.

Get her out of here,I said darkly, turning to the guards. Take her to the cell. Lock her up. I don’t want her anywhere near my pack house.

The guards didn’t hesitate. They stepped in and grabbed Olivia by the arms. She didn’t resist, but her voice echoed as they dragged her away.

You’re going to lose her forever, Ethan. No matter what you do, she’ll never forgive you. And deep down, you know you don’t deserve her.”

I didn’t look back. I couldn’t.

I marched to my study and slammed the door behind me so hard that a picture frame rattled off the wall and hit the floor.

My breathing was ragged as I paced like a madman. I could still hear Olivia’s voice in my head.

Her taunts. Her truths. She was rightI hadn’t treated Raven like someone worthy. I hadn’t protected her. I let my anger and pride ruin her again and again.

I punched the wall, my knuckles splitting on impact.

Fuck!I growled, holding my hand, the pain burning through me like fire.

She was my mate, and I treated her like a damn slave.

I thought the worst part of this would be discovering Olivia had tricked me. But no. The worst part was knowing I had willingly gone along with it because it was easier than facing the truth. That I had always felt something for Raven. Something I refused to acknowledge.

Now I was losing her.

She hated me.

I had seen it in her eyes.

The hatred. The brokenness.

She looked at me like I was a monster.

And I was.

I sat at the edge of my desk, gripping the wood until my knuckles turned white, blood dripping onto the surface from my wounded hand. The study was spinning. My head was a mess, Everything was unraveling.

Matthew had brought her breakfast this morning.

That bastard.

She had eaten it.

Chosen his food over mine.

She was my mate, and she didn’t even hesitate to choose another man’s kindness over mine,

Why wouldn’t she? What had I offered her except pain?

I leaned back in the chair, exhaling roughly. My thoughts were chaos. I didn’t know how to fix this. For the first time in years, I didn’t know what to do.

I needed someone to talk to.
