Mated To The Alpha King (Raven and Ethan) novel Chapter 143

Chapter 143

Raven’s POV

I woke up to the sound of voices. Groggy and still halfasleep, I blinked against the faint light pouring in through

the curtains.

My ears picked up the rustling of clothes and the subtle creak of drawers opening and shutting.

Slowly turning my head, I saw two maids moving around the room, folding and packing my clothes into boxes. Confusion hit me like a wave.

I sat up abruptly, the blanket falling from my body as I stared at them.

Whatwhat are you doing?I asked, my voice hoarse from sleep.

The two maids froze. One of them, a brunette I’d seen around the servant quarters, clutched a folded blouse in her hand and gave me an apologetic smile.

I’m sorry, Miss Raven, she said gently. Alpha Ethan asked us to pack your things.

I frowned and reached for my nightgown on the bed, quickly slipping it over my head. Pack my things? Why? Who gave you permission to touch my stuff without asking me first?

The second maid, a younger girl with nervous eyes, stepped back a little. Alpha Ethan ordered it early this morning. He said you were being moved to another rooma better one.”

I swung my legs off the bed and stood, brushing past them without another word.

The room was already halfway packed, my shoes neatly placed in a box, my books stacked, and even the perfume bottles Beta Matthew had gifted me were carefully wrapped.

Everything inside me bristled.

I stormed out of the room and made my way to Alpha Ethan’s.

I didn’t knock I never did anymore. But his room was empty, the bed perfectly made, no sign of him. With a

frustrated huff, I turned toward the hallway, making my way to his study.

Again, nothing. The room was quiet, untouched.

Where the hell is he?I muttered.

I marched down the hall until I found one of the guards standing outside the eastern wing.

Have you seen Alpha Ethan?I demanded.

Yes, Miss Raven. He’s at the training ground.

Of course he was. Always working. Always in control.

I made my way through the back garden that led to the training field.

My wolf stirred the moment we stepped into the open air, her energy rising.

Mine,she whispered.

I rolled my eyes. Not now.

He’s training. I can smell him. He smellssweaty and perfect.

Shut up,I whispered under my breath.

As I reached the edge of the field, I spotted him, Alpha Ethan, at the far end of the training ground. The sun hung lazily above him, casting golden rays over his glistening body.

His shirt clung to his torso, damp with sweat, the fabric outlining every sharp line of his muscles. He was sparring with two warriors at once, fluid and confident.

Damn it, he looked good. I hated that he looked good.

He caught sight of me just as he finished a flawless flip to disarm one of the warriors, throwing the sword to the ground as he approached.

His chest rose and fell heavily from the exertion, but there was a slight smile tugging at his lips.

Raven,he said, voice low. You’re up. How are you feeling?

I narrowed my eyes at him. Don’t act like that. Why did you move my things without asking me first?

His brows lifted. I was going to tell you after training.

You should have told me before, Ethan. Not let your maids invade my room like I’m some object to be relocated.

You’re my mate,” he said firmly, eyes serious now. You deserve better. That room in the servant quarters was

beneath you.

“Oh, the last time I checked, I was nothing to you, and the last time I checked, I didn’t ask for a new room.

No, but you wanted one three days ago. I heard you say it to Beta Matthew.

I opened my mouth, then closed it. My wolf purred.

See? He listens. He’s thoughtful. You were just too stubborn to notice.

Just shut your mouth. I didn’t ask for your opinion, and you are not helping,I hissed.

Ethan stepped closer. I just wanted to surprise you. I thought you’d be happy.

Chapter 143

About moving to a new space, I would’ve been if it wasn’t the room right next to yours.”

He frowned. “Why does that matter?

Because it feels like you’re trying to cage me. Control me again.”

He sighed and raked his hand through his damp hair. It’s not like that. I wanted you close, so if anything happensI’ll know.

I’ll feel it, You think I could sleep peacefully knowing you’re suffering and I’m just a hallway away, too far to reach you in time?

My breath caught slightly, and I looked away. Still, you should have asked me.

I will next time,” he said, his tone softening. But for now, just accept the room. I was trying to do something

good.

He’s sweet,my wolf said dreamily. He cares. Can’t you see that?
