Revenge served in a black dress (Nora and Jace) novel Chapter 12

CH 12

There was nothing at all regarding the pains of betrayal for her over the next few days. He’d come and apologized to her while she’d been sitting in her study room, stating a simple I’m sorry, there is no excuse for that invitation and the way it was worded.”

He tilted her chin up to make her look at him, when she simply wouldn’t acknowledge his words or his presence. But giving me the silent treatment is childish Nora, Just talk to me, use your words to state how you feel. I can’t understand silence. I’m also too old to want to deal with that kind of behavior from you. We are Mates and, clearly, we need to communicate better.

She’d just stared at him, uncaringly, and he sighed, “I’d cancel her party if it wasn’t this weekend and everything wasn’t already paid for. Please attend it with me.

No,” she’d stated and pulled her chin from his hand, I wasn’t invited, and I’m not going to gate crash the Luna’s party. I believe that would be punishable; disrespecting the Luna so blatantly, a full day on the shaming post. I believe that is what the pack laws state.

He’d huffed and stood looking down at her. I’m not about to put Gloria on the shaming post. It was a mistake,he stated.

So, on some level, he understood that it was a full insult from Gloria to herself, and that Gloria should be punished by pack law for the blatant insult to the Alpha’s Mate, but he wasn’t going to do it, because he couldn’t punish the woman he loved like that.

I bet you’d put me on it.she muttered. Gloria would only have to cry about something, say it was me that made her cry and bar, your temper would rise, and I’d be shamed for making that shewolf cry.

I would not put you, my Mate, on the shaming post,he told her.

She didn’t believe it. Just leave me alone. She told him simply, there’d been no anger in her words.

He’d sighed heavily and walked out of the room, stating before he’d closed the door, in a soft, almost caring tone, I’m sorry you were hurt, Nora. I will give you time to yourself as you wish, it won’t happen again. Then

he’d left.

He’d not come looking for her to pull into his bed either, or to even speak with her. He was getting all the

peace and quiet he wanted from her, to be with the woman he loved.

She’d not gone to the party, and neither had he when it came. He’d simply sat himself in the suite and then

retired to the master bedroom when he was ready. She could only figure that he was trying to make a point of

not going. He’d clearly not liked her words about him rejecting her, if he didn’t want her. And he was it appeared trying to look like he was making an effort, to make her think he didn’t want a rejection. Though it was coming, and she knew it.

Jace announced an impromptu pack run two days after that party, and announced that the full leadership of the pack would be leading it, only to have her decline to attend it. She stated simply Have Gloria run it with you, it’s what the pack is used to anyway,” and she’d actually felt annoyance come down the mindlink before it had been severed.

He’d marched himself into the suite and looked at her, It’s been nearly a week, Nora, are you ever going to let

it go? Surely some leeway or forgiveness can be had.

I’m not mad. She’d stated Rosa simply doesn’t want to go on it. Perhaps you ticked her off as well. She’s sleeping deeply, and I can’t wake her to attend the pack run. She’d watched him frown right at her, and then his own wolf had pushed forward to look at her, she’d stared up at him. He would sense his own Mate but not

be able to reach her himself.

She heard a snarl come from his Alpha Wolf as he realized she was not lying, that Rosa was deeply sleeping and unreachable even to him. She heard him call to her wolf and sat and looked up at him. Nothing

happened, and his wolf receded itself after only a few seconds of realization. To leave a very uncertain looking Jace standing there staring down at her.

When did this happen?he asked and then hunkered down to look at her.

What does it matter? She’d stated and turned her eyes to the book in her hand. You’d better go, or you’ll be

late for your own pack run.

Nora, this could be serious. He murmured, and she heard the frown in his voice.

“It’s been weeks now, not that you noticed. She stated Go, they are all waiting for you. Like I said, have

Gloria run it with you. I can’t at this moment in time.

“We’ll discuss this later. He muttered and got up and left to attend the pack run with Gloria.

Of course, we will, she thought, later so you can be with Gloria right now. Everything was always later. If he loved her, he’d have his Beta lead that run and be here with her to try and figure out how it had come about, and what to do about it. How to get her wolf back, but he wasn’t. She came last for this man, unless he actually needed something from her that was.

Thankfully, the full moon was this coming weekend, and she could go home and get away from him, be with her family and surrounded by the people that love her. Be among friends and get the hell away from this pack for several days. Away from him and Gloria and really think about how she was going to leave.

She curled up in her study room and allowed herself to fall asleep, only to wake up and find Jace right there with her, his mouth on her neck softly, his hand curled over her hip and his body hard and ready for her. She gasped as she felt his mouth touch her mark spot and desire bloomed in her. It had been weeks since he’d

touched her.

She tried to shove at him and got growled at all possessively, and realized it wasn’t Jace. It was his wolf, Hydro, that beast she knew was trying to get Rosa to come forward, was trying to use his bond with his wolfen Mate to make her surface once more. She gasped as he touched her and bit her mark spot, growled both her name and then Rosa’s as he turned her face to look at him, and then just kissed her hungrily, his entire body moving against hers until she was moaning in pleasure, grinding herself against him.

Her clothes were peeled away by Hydro and his mouth followed, nipping and kissing at her skin, creating hot sparks all over her body, until he was devouring her core, gripping her hips and holding her still even as she writhed in pleasure and cried out his name, still he didn’t stop she heard his gravelly voice call to Rosa, and when she didn’t surface he ravished her until she was screaming in bliss, and then he took her all a needy.

There was no stopping it. His wolf knew all the ways to pleasure her, everything her body liked, and she couldn’t deny him and the bond they had. His wolf loved hers and her by extension, and she kissed him back greedily, wanting to feel loved even though she knew deep down she was going to regret it in the morning

She took all of him for as long as he wanted to have her, cried out and screamed with pleasure many times on the floor of her study room, and fell asleep with his arms around her near dawn, exhausted by him and his

need to bring Rosa to the surface. She knew that was what this was about. She also knew it had not worked at all. Rosa had no interested in being a part of this mate bond anymore.

Hydro was only now just learning that his Mate wouldn’t come when he called for her, and all he was left with was Nora to spend time with. He’d not even known there was anything wrong with his wolfen Mate, and he’d just learned s*x and mating wasn’t going to fix it either. He couldn’t speak to her, couldn’t call her to him, and she wondered if he understood that it was his own human’s fault.

That Jace had done this to them. Surely, he had to know his human was touching another she wolf, didn’t like it and was opposed to it. Maybe he just didn’t have any control at all over Jace and his actions that were detrimental to his own beast. Or perhaps his beast knew that Jace loved Gloria and wasn’t bonded to Nora, so let things slide. She didn’t know.

She woke up alone and in the master bedroom, tucked into the bed and sighed heavily to herself, and scrubbed a hand over her face as she sat up. She didn’t want to be in this bed. It wasn’t where she belonged, and she knew it. She got up and showered, dressed and returned to her study room. It had already been cleaned by the omegas and the windows were all open to air the room.
