It was a frustratingly annoying week for her. Even though the was attending to exams and studying, Jace would stalk into her study room and take her suitcases, and or clothing, if she’d unpacked them, which she did to make it more of a hassle for him to take them back to his bedroom, which she had started doing every day now
She had to ignore it if she was sitting an exam. It was very rude of him to interrupt her exam period and once, he’d been sitting in that bedroom just waiting for her to come and get them, and he’d stood up and barred her way. “You and I will get through this,” he had told her. “Just leave your things in here and I won’t be like this” He’d stated flatly
“Move” had been her only answer
“Or what, you want to actually fight me about it. You won’t win, Nora. I’m alpha–blooded, and you don’t even have Rosa at this point, are practically wolf–less, and does that bother me? No, it doesn’t. Do you know why, because we’re Goddess–Gifted to each other, and I can accept that fact. Does that not show you I want this
mate bond to work out?”
No, she thought, because she knew his agenda. She had heard it with her own ears. “I’m not staying in here.” She tried to move past him, and he latched onto her arm and yanked her around to hold her body to his
“I could seduce you, Nora, right into that bed.” He murmured softly, and his mouth hit her neck. “It’s been a
while, don’t you want to?”
“I will hate you for it, and I will reject you myself if you do what I think you’re about to do,” she bit out. “I swear
to the Goddess it will be the last time you ever touch me,”
His whole body stilled as she spoke, and his lips pulled from her neck, and he let go of her, and she was gone from the bedroom, and she’d just left her things in there. If he wanted them in there so badly, so be it. It didn’t mean she had to be in there, but she was not going to have him use the mate bond against her anymore, not
ever again.
She locked the doors to her study room that evening, knowing what his intent was and hoping her words had been enough for him to actually understand she was more than mad, but very unhappy with their mate bond. He just wanted to have s*x and couldn’t go and f**k the she wolf he truly desired.
Though she’d also not gotten hit with any kind of pains of betrayal at all this week, so that was at least
something, her last exam was over and now all she had to do was wait for the results to come out was all. She was hoping she had achieved her goal of having a final overall mark of 4.0. Everything was lined up, and
she’d already filled in the application for renewing her scholarship. It was good and strong. Her current mark
was seen as 3.4, and she was just waiting for the exams to push her up to the magic 4.0 before submitting it
all.
It was actually something she was excited about and nothing could bring her down on that, and she knew it. Jace didn’t attempt anything at all, he didn’t even come into her study room after her words. She headed off into the pack’s town center to buy herself a hazelnut latte and eat a nice breakfast on her own. To just sit and enjoy the fact that the semester was officially over, and she could relax and start focusing on other things.
It was there that she took an unhappy phone call from her old Alpha, Clayton, as she actually got up and left the café, taking her coffee with her, so none would hear the conversation. He was telling her that his pack

was still tied to her university degree, and they had sent him to pay for the deed of her des

view to refunding it pending if she got a scholarship renewal or not, the in the prevent part thes payment was for the amount the scholarship wouldn’t
He wanted to know just what was going on. Was it a mistake? And if not my wigs hatc Mate, paying for it? And why was she suddenly going to be living on campus and not stay as an student, like she’d been the entire time she had been studying as his pack mamber?
Nora sighed. “It’s complicated is all. Can you forward it to me? pay for
“Nora, what is going on?” she could hear the frown in his voice Hems you let and gde met on making sure all his pack members were well looked after
“Nothing is going on.” She answered him
“Right, so in other words I should call your Mate and ask him about this very thing he muttered
“No,” she rushed out and then sighed heavily, “you don’t need to do that. I’m sorry, I didn’t think when i filed out the paperwork, I must have put your pack on it instead of this one is all, il rectify that with the universey just force of habit I guess, to put your pack down, being that I’ve lived there my whole life”
“The on–campus living? Mated pairs don’t live apart, certainly not Alphas and Lunas” He sighed, the man wasn’t going to be fooled.
How did she answer that? She didn’t know, not without telling him what she was going to be doing was walking along trying to think up an explanation that would seem reasonable.
He spoke before she did, “Are you unhappy? Just state yes, or no?” he murmured. “If you can’t talk, I just need
monosyllables from you.”
“Yes,” she answered simply, “I’m sorting everything out. Don’t concern yourself with it. I have got this,” she
told him.
“Are you certain, I could drop by for an impromptu visit.” He offered up
“No,” she answered.
“Your family,” he muttered now. “Are they aware?”
“No, and I’d like to keep it that way as well,” she told him honestly.
“Right, I’ll pay this bill and plead ignorance, if you’re 100% certain of your actions.”
“I am, it’s pretty much a done deal the moon after next.” She stated simply, letting him know that she was
only going to be here for a few more weeks, and then she was out.
“If there are complications, Nora. Don’t hesitate to call… Are you safe?” he asked quietly.
“Yes” She answered and saw Jace and his unit walking back from training. His eyes were on her. “I have to go now, I’ll catch you up later.” She stated and heard him huff right before she clicked the line closed. He obviously knew it meant she couldn’t talk anymore.
“Nora, will you have breakfast with us?” Jace called out to her.
“I just came from having breakfast at the café,” she stated, and held up her coffee for him to see.
“It would be nice if we ate a meal together, don’t you think?” he asked.

Na, she didn’t think that it would be, “Rorry, Alpha, I already ate
Wolves can always eat more,” he countered.
“Hmm, currently no wolf, so unless you want me to get fat?” she offered up with a shake of her head, stiff indicating it was a no
He actually chuckled softly. “Not unless you’re pregnant. That would be nice to see. I think you’d look beautiful pregnant with our heir”
She stared right at him, that was never going to happen. Tm 20, not looking to have a baby until after my studies are well and truly over.” She stated, and it wasn’t a lie, she’d never had any intentions of having a pup mid–degree.
“Hmm, food for thought though hey.” He smiled right at her.
“You may keep that thought to yourself, for at least, oh say, 2 years.” She stated and stopped walking as she came to the packhouse. As a regular pack member, it wasn’t her place to walk through the door before him. So, she stood and waited. He frowned at her, coming to a halt.
“What is wrong?” he asked, and stopped walking himself, as did his whole unit, because not even they would
walk through the door in front of him when they were all walking together as they were. She’d seen it a
million times.
The only person to ever walk through a door before he did, was in fact Gloria, and she’d seen him many times stop and wave her on past him and follow directly behind her. It was a Mate thing to do. Or an Alpha showing his Luna a mark of respect as he’d done in his office, stepping her out of the way, so Gloria could pass through the door before Nora could.
“Nothing,” she waved her hand at the door. “Just waiting for the Alpha to go through the door, like everyone else does.” She motioned to his unit all standing behind him waiting for that very thing.
I’m not just the Alpha, Nora. I’m your Mate and…” He motioned for her to step through the front doors of the packhouse. “You should precede me, as a mark of my respect for you,” he stated
She was staring at him now, wondering what he was up to. Perhaps her words last night had actually hit home for him, that she was just about done with him. No one could stop someone from issuing a rejection, not even him to her, regardless that he was an Alpha. All he could do was refuse to accept it and be stuck to
her or accept it and let go.
A full minute passed, and he huffed “Fine.” He stated and reached out and grabbed her hand and pulled her through the door with him. “Problem solved, together it is,” he stated, and let go of her hand. “I also don’t like you calling me Alpha, please Nora, I am your Mate and yes, I understand I need to work on some things, you made that very clear last night. But calling me Jace is your right as my Mate.”
“Jace, may I speak with you please about my new accommodation?” Gloria asked as she came out of his office and smiled at him.
Nora turned and walked away to leave him to it, only to have him latch on to a few steps later, “Nora please.” She looked at him and then at Gloria, who was frowning at not having Jace’s undivided attention like she normally would get when calling out for him, “You should tend to the Luna’s request.” She told him, “Sorry, Luna.” She addressed Gloria, bowed her head ever so slightly to the woman. “I don’t mean to hold him up.” she pulled her wrist from his hand and walked away from his more than shocked expression. But what else
