The Alpha table had pretty much been empty all week, because Nors herself didn’t sit at it. She knew that it wasn’t her place to be at that table and she’d estan at another table. Which had seen him frown, but what he didn’t realize was she’d not sat at the Apha table in months. He’d just never cared to notice before now because his Luna, that he wanted, was at the table with him.

He always sat there for his mess with his unit, Gloria and the Luna’s unit and a few times they’d eaten at the same time as herself, and he’d just not noticed she was there at all at the other end of the room, well away from him. Some of the pack members sew it, but she never said anything, just focused on her meal, and then left the room via the outside door at the back of the room so as not to have to walk past them.

She watched again as anger flashed on Gloria’s face, and she nearly laughed at her. “You do realize the longer we’re bonded to each other, the more chance there is of him and his beast actually succumbing to the mate bond right. That I could, with that knowledge, just hold on to him until he falls for me and lets you go.” She smirked right at Gloria.

She walked outside and stood there next to Jace, her phone in her hand. “Put that thing away” Jace snapped at her after seeing it in her hand, when he’d looked over her attire. “You couldn’t have put a dress on?” he muttered.

“Why do I need to wear a dress?” she asked in return. She looked presentable as far as she was concerned, and it wasn’t like anyone would mistake her for a boy. She had long hair, a pretty face and the curves of a woman. “Or am I to only dress how you want?” she questioned right back. “Do as you say and have no mind of my own?”

Jace’s eyes turned right on her and there was a hard edge to them. Yes, she’d spoken disrespectfully towards him, but she no longer really cared. He nor his wolf had even tried to get Rosa back, had let it go, he didn’t care at all about her well–being. So why should she care about him and his wants? “Am I just to be a doll on your arm, yes master, sorry master, bow down and give you everything you want, and become a mindless toy for you to play with?”

She could feel the entire unit looking at her now, but none of them cared either. They all knew he had Gloria on his arm, likely saw him touch her all the time, and didn’t care about how it would affect her. Not even Matt had told him it was wrong and why, because he’d been Gloria’s Gamma for the Goddess only knew how long Gloria was his priority and his job, not Nora.

She turned away from him as she felt anger roll off him, and she stared at nothing in particular as she stood

there, and did as he told her to. She turned her thoughts away from him and his pack, and thought about the life she was going to have. One where she was going to be happy and doing what she loved, not one where

she was miserable and unloved.

She heard her phone chime in her hand and smiled to herself. The results were out. She bit her lip a little and

took a breath in, preparing herself to see how she’d done, lifted it up to look at it and, even before she could access the email, the phone was snatched from her hand and thrown across the front of the packhouse to

land on the concrete.

Her eyes widened as she saw its glass screen shatter on the ground, “Don’t be so bloody disrespectful.” Jace snarled at her as tears brimmed in her eyes.

That happy moment of seeing her exam results was shattered now, just like her phone was. She turned her eyes right towards him. How could he be so uncaring all the time? “How dare you!” she half whispered, “Do you not care at all about my feelings?” she asked him even as he turned to face the approaching car.
