Nora

She was once again looking at Jace as he walked into her room, “Hora, I have something to confess.”

“Among other things you need to apologize for?” she queried right back.

“Yes.” He nodded. “Seems not only am I hurtful towards you, I’m also very lacking in seeing what is going on inside this pack around me.” he sighed and sank down on the couch to look at her apologetically. “It seems

your pack card information was filled out wrong and…” he sighed heavily.

“Oh, don’t tell me, Gloria received it.” she shook her head.

“Yes, I just found out now. You mustn’t have put your name on it correctly, and it was addressed as Luna

Remmington, not L, N Remmington.”

Nora snorted with fully amused derision this time. He was it seemed so very dumb, it amazed her how he

could be the Alpha of a pack, and she wondered if he was only still in power, due to Gloria standing next to

him all this time.

“Oh, I see, that’s my mistake is it…” she looked at him and his frowning at her. “Are you so stupid?” she asked.

“Gloria filled it in. I’ve yet to even be given paperwork for a pack card, and as for Luna Remmington. Wouldn’t that still come to me? What is Gloria’s last name, or did you grant her Remmington as well?” she asked

directly. “Seems you have no idea what goes on inside your own pack.”

He was staring at her more than a little shocked, and she knew he’d not thought about it at all, even though

he’d not Marked and Mated Gloria it was likely he did see her as a Remmington right up until this very

moment where she was needing to point it out to him.

“I did not.” He murmured. “She’s a Romano.”

“Then don’t come in here and blame me for things you yourself don’t know about, haven’t even investigated,

I’m guessing. Unless you still feel a need to put me down once in a while,” Nora commented casually.

“I do not want to do that, my error I see.” he sighed, and she watched as he ran a hand through his hair, and

he moved his eyes away from her. “I guess I’m..” she saw his eyes finally find the dress on the rack over there.

“You’ve chosen a dress?” he asked, and she heard the smile in his voice, even as he got up and walked over

there to look at it.

“I did.” She commented without stating it was a Luna dress or that she wouldn’t be wearing it.

“I really did think this color would suit you.” he turned and smiled at her. “It matches your eyes and skin tone.”

She raised an eyebrow at him but said “I’m still undecided about whether I’ll be staying or not. Just figured I’d better pick something in case I opted to take you back.” She shrugged it off. “Seeing as I don’t have anything appropriate to wear in my wardrobe.”

“A new card has been issued, it’ll be here in 10 days. The accountant is ordering it as we speak. It will state L. N Remmington.”

“What’s the L, stand for?” she asked. There was no L in her name.

“Luna.” He smiled right at her, and she could see he was very happy that she’d chosen a dress. “Everyone gets

their rank’s first letter on their pack card”

She just nodded but said nothing. Every pack ran different things the watched him take that does from the rack. “Did you try it on? Does it need to be altered for your height? Would you show it to me on your he asked.

Nora watched him walk off to her bedroom and rolled her eyes, but didn’t stop him. He carte out and looked at her. “You don’t own many pretty clothes.”

“You are my Mate and should have…” he trailed off, and she watched him close his eyes as he realized that was just one more thing he’d not done. “I really am a terrible Mate,” he muttered.

“Yes.” She stated in full agreement with him, “What did you come up here for?” she asked now. “Just to tell

me i filled in the pack card details wrong?”

“No,” he frowned right at her. “I realized something else I haven’t done and wanted to talk to you about it.” he walked over and sat on the couch once more. “I’ve not replaced your car?

“And?” she shrugged.

“Well, all Lunas should have a Luna car. It’s actually, I believe, one of the first things I should have discussed with you, though now that I’m thinking about that, there is another thing I should have done and need to check on…” he trailed off, and she raised an eyebrow at him.

“I’ll get back to you on that after I’ve checked and investigated it,” he muttered, and she saw his eyes move to the laptop on her lap. “But back to your car, I’d like to discuss it with you, and perhaps we could go and look at cars see what it is you like, a day trip into the city for us, tomorrow.”

She was just looking at him now. She did actually need to go into the city tomorrow, but was not going to

have him tagging along with her.

“Maybe we could consider it… a date.” He offered after several minutes of silence from her as she debated with herself about getting what she wanted.

“I’m not about to go on a date with you,” she shook her head finally. “Not at all ready for that, and why you

would think it, when I won’t even have a meal with you? I don’t understand that at all. Did I do something to

lead you to believe that was going to happen?” she asked and saw his eyes move to her room.

She knew he was thinking about the fact that she’d picked a dress for that all–important Luna Ceremony, then he shook his head. I’m sorry, I’m pushing, I see. I do want to spend time with you, Nora, perhaps a walk

around the pack or a meal in the pack dining hall with others about.”

She wondered if he was trying to get the pack to see them together. She wouldn’t put it past him. Tm not really ready to spend… quality time with you, if that’s what you’re wanting from me. You’re certainly not going to get me into your bed, before that Luna Ceremony and my position here is rectified to the entire pack either,

“I’ll go and look at cars tomorrow.” She nodded and saw him smile at her once more. “On my own. To like a day out of the pack, to be by myself.”

That wiped the smile off his face. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“Why? I’ve been doing it for months now. Not once did you see fit to stop me before. You didn’t care about for all these past months, were happy to let me leave, so why stop me now?” she questione

“The last time you left the pack and went to the city you came back half dead is why,” he stated

“Not because anyone harmed me. Because I had a fallopian tube rupture, that had nothing to do with me going into the city. I was going into the city tomorrow anyway, to meet my mother. She wants to do dress shopping with me.”

“You’ve picked out a dress.” he frowned at her.

“Not for me. For her, I believe they replied they’d be coming to the Luna Ceremony. Yes?”

“They have and so has your old Alpha.” He nodded. “I thought you might like that, them all here. I am trying to show you I mean it, and bringing them here to see it, shows you I will mean it, that I am willing to vow my loyalty to you, in front of your family and former Alpha. Nothing will be spared for the event. Pack colors ve decided on. I’ll be wearing my pack suit.”

“Alright.” She nodded. “So I’ll be going into the city on my own. I’ll take a pack car seeing as mine is pulled apart in the workshop… I’ll look at cars with my mother while I’m out.” She stated, “if that’s alright with you?”

“Yes, of course it is,” he nodded. “Something suitable though. A Mercedes or BMW, Audi or Porsche brand would be suitable in my eyes.” He smiled at her “any model you like from any of those brands.”

“Alright, I’ll look.” She stated, “Is that all today?”

“Yes, until I sort the other issue out. Once that is done, I’ll come back, and we can discuss it, sort that out, seeing as I’m certain the investigation will show that it has also not been attended to,” he nodded. “Til go and do that now, and we’ll sit down and discuss it tomorrow… Say over breakfast.”

“Likely not going to be a happy conversation if it’s what I think it is.” she stated, “Best not involve meals with

it.”

He frowned right at her and then just nodded. “I’ll take these dresses and have them returned to the dress store.” He stated and stood up. “get the feeling you’re ready for me to leave.”

She just nodded and watched him go. She leaned back in that chair and shook her head. He’d just realized he’d never sorted out paying for her university degree. Hell, that man didn’t even know what uni she was studying at, or what she studied either. He had no idea because he’d never bothered to ask.
