CH 58
Nora
She arrived back at the pack and sighed as she felt Rosa vanish from her once more. She’d been with her all
day, happy and wagged her tail, she’d even talked to her mother’s wolf, while they’d hung out with their mum.
Now they were here, and she was gone once more. She looked down at her arm. There was a nice–sized hand print there from where Jace had grabbed onto her this morning.
Rosa had refused to heal it, once she’d heard how Nora had gotten it. She was of the opinion he should see
every damned mark he left on her, just to remind him she was without her wolf; which was also his fault. She
got that bag out of the car, and draped it over and arm, and walked inside the pack house.
Jace was standing right there waiting for her. “How was your day?” he asked.
“Fine.” She answered and headed for the stairs.
“You bought a new dress?” he frowned.
“Mother bought it for the ceremony.” She stated, “I’ll be keeping it here for her.”
“Oh.” He nodded. “That’s nice to hear, I bet she looked lovely in it.”
She just nodded and turned to leave. “Gloria had your Luna card, I’ve confiscated it.”
“I’m aware, she flashes a Luna pack card around. But then she is your Luna, so why wouldn’t she?” She
commented. “Enjoyed using it. That much I do know.”
“I’m sorry Nora, it will not happen again. I’ve also had her removed from the packhouse. She no longer lives
here, has been de–ranked back to her natural bloodline, as you know, and she has now moved out of the
packhouse.”
She looked at him with narrowed eyes, and he sighed “I should have done it the day I had her removed from
office. I was, a little slow on the uptake.” He muttered, “But I’m working on it, on myself as well.”
She looked at her arm, and wondered if he really was. She didn’t really think so. Still had that nasty temper. I’m so very sorry about that,” Jace stated, “I honestly never meant to hurt you.”
“I’ve felt worse from you to be honest.” She shrugged and walked away, and she heard him sigh heavily. He
knew what she meant, the pains of betrayal.
She walked to her room in the far back corner of the packhouse and frowned as she looked at the corridor
that led to her room. It was dotted with vases filled with all sorts of colorful flowers, that wasn’t normal. As
she rounded the last corner, there were two large floor vases by her room door, filled with yellow roses.
She could also see there was a card nestled among the flowers, that had the words ‘My Beautiful Mate &
Luna, Nora‘ written on it. She rolled her eyes at the wording, she knew it was his way of trying to make sure
she knew they were for her, and not Gloria. Making a point, she thought, so she had no excuse and just sent
them right to Gloria, like she had done the last time.
She plucked it from the flowers and opened it while she stood there in the hall, figured he was probably watching her through the cameras in the hallway here, watching the live feed from his office, no doubt, seeing as he wasn’t trailing her.

‘My apologies Nora, I lost my temper and should not have taken it out on you. I’m sorry Jace!
She sighed and shook her head a little, stood there and stared at the flowers, wondering what she should do about this display of so–called affection. Stood there for a long few minutes contemplating it, and then gave him what she knew he’d be looking for, a small gesture that she was willing to accept his apology.
She plucked a single rose from one of the vases and walked into her suite with it pressed to her nose. The minute the door was closed, she tossed it and the card on the table and walked away from it. Then she went and hung up her dress in the walk–in. Stood looking at the other dress; one just like what he’d originally picked with Gloria in mind.
She felt Gloria connect a mind–link to her ‘If you think, it’s not all for show for the pack, you’d be wrong.
‘I don’t think anything of the goings–on where the Alpha is concerned Gloria, let him play his game. I know where I truly stand. I also told him to reject me just this morning, and right in front of his entire unit to hear, as well as whoever else was around, I meant it,’ she told her. ‘Or did you not hear about it?‘
‘I heard about it, but I’ve also taken it upon myself to move out of the packhouse until you leave, to help make it look as though he’s only interested in his Mate. Don’t be fooled by it. But thank you for spending all day out of the pack. That gave he and I time to spend together.‘
‘You’re welcome. Just ask, Luna, if you want me to do that again. I don’t mind being outside the pack, I feel
way more comfortable out there. She stated honestly.
‘I heard he bought a Luna dress, gold and in my size, gave it to you.’ She snorted.
‘Hmm, it’s in my walk–in. Come and collect it anytime you like. Though I’d do it after he goes to bed, he’s got
cameras on me currently, I believe.’
‘Alright, I’ll collect it when I feel like it. I have my master keys for all the rooms.‘
‘You know what, I’ll have it returned to his Alpha Suite. I’d much rather you didn’t come into my room, Nora
stated as an afterthought.
‘That is fine, I was in there today for most of the day anyway, she chuckled. ‘I like my new office in the Alpha
Suite.’
Nora rolled her eyes. She really must be losing her grip on Jace to have to come up with all this crap. ‘Is that
all Luna? I’ve got packing to do.’
The link was cut, and she shook her head. “What a bitch.” She muttered into the room, as she stood looking
at that gold dress, how was she going to get that to the Alpha Suite, because she really didn’t want Gloria in
this room at all.
She heard the doorbell chime and sighed “Here we go.” She muttered to herself and pulled the walk–in door closed. And walked over and answered the door to find who she thought was going to be standing there.
Jace.
“Yes, Jace?” she asked.
“I’ve come to apologize in person.” He stated, “I was completely out of line this morning.”
“Hmm, you were.” She nodded,
“May I come in, please?” he asked.

She turned and walked away from the door, leaving it open and knew he would save any invitation. She sat down as he closed the door to the room and then vratka ors and see the saw him look at the flower on the table. “You should put that in some water, if a tent of ge
Til get there.” She stated simply.
“Nora, about what you said downstairs.” He sighed. “That you’ve felt worse pain
“I have. You witnessed it yourself once, though..” she shrugged. “You didn’t believe i fate anything snarticate called me a liar, in front of everyone, even though you saw it with your own eyes, and your owes Stor picked up on it, listened to Gloria, who in fact, called me a liar and wanted you to Alpha Order believe.”
“How many times has that happened?” he asked. “The pains of betrayal?
“Shouldn’t you know, you’re the one touching someone else,” she stated.
“I don’t know,” he sighed. “I have never actively touched Gloria in a manner that would hurt your lendur ya

“Not the other way around. I didn’t even think about the way she touched me. I was your Mate, and I have
never cheated on you. You know that, would have felt it and been in agony for hours if I had
“Hmm, nice to know if you had cheated, you’d have spent hours with her.“”
“No… Nora, that’s not…” he sighed. “Please don’t take it like that, please don’t be so difficult when lim count

“Do you expect me to just forget about every time I felt pain sear my arm, my ear, my lips even? Just say, forgive you and give you everything you want. Just roll over and be a doormat for you.”
“No,” he shook his head. “Of course not. I just want you to know that it wasn’t my intent at alll”
“Are you sure about that?” she asked directly with a raised eyebrow, “because Jace, I watched you, myself. from the packhouse stairs, reach out and lovingly run a hand around Gloria’s ear, and do you know how !! know it was love, because I felt it, had to bite down on the searing pain of you touching another with loving intent, right before my very eyes. So don’t come in here and tell me you didn’t touch her with the intent of being loving, when I saw it with my own eyes. Do you want to know where you were when you did that.” she looked right at him and his silence. He really thought he’d never harmed her on purpose, she realized. She could tell from the very deep frown of confusion on his face.
“In the doorway of your office for all in the pack to see. It wasn’t the worst thing I’ve had to endure ether,” she shook her head, “but let’s not go there. You won’t like the outcome of my attitude if I have to repeat that day
He was just staring at her now. He didn’t seem to know what to say at all, and she knew it. “Every time you touched her like that, I felt it, Two, three, sometimes half a dozen times a day.”
“I’m so very sorry Nora, I honestly had no idea.” He shook his head.
“You must be dumb not to know she shrugged, “considering I started sleeping elsewhere.

at every turn. How did you not know it was your own behavior, that you loved her and not me, that drove me away?”
“I can only say I am sorry.” He sighed.

“And I can only say I need time.” She sighed right back. “I liked the flowers their pretty, but…
“It can’t make up for my grievous errors.” Jace nodded.
“No,” she stated softly.
