Nora
She looked at many of the shoes on display. They were all white, or ivory, some even champagne, like the color of the dress everyone thought she was going to be wearing on that full moon in two wee
She saw Gloria come to the store, open the door and go to step inside, only to have Zelda hurry over there and put a hand on her. “I’m sorry Gloria, Alpha Jace has specifically asked that the store be dosed to anyone bar Luna Nora today”
“Are you kidding me, I shop here all the time,” Gloria grated out.
“Again, it’s the Alpha’s order. I can’t disobey it, as you yourself would have heard through the sack–wide mind–link. If I allow you in, that will be disrespectful to Luna Nora. I’m taking a lashing for you. And if you insist on ignoring the Alpha’s order, I imagine you will also get a lashing at his hands
“Like he would harm me,” she stated, and her eyes met Nora’s for a long moment before Zelda pushed her

and away.
She shook her head ever so slightly, that she wolf didn’t like it at all, that Jace was starting to lay the law down in order to keep herself happy. Laws that were going to see Gloria taking a lasting if she wasn’t careful and at his own hands. She wondered if he would actually do it?
Zelda looked at her. “My apologies Luna, seems there’s an interloper.”
“Always has been,” she muttered. “I’m used to it,” she stated flatly.
“You shouldn’t have ever had to put up with that from her.” Zelda shook her head. “Now back to shoes I think. white would be a good option due to all the white embroidery on the dress, making it stand out. What do you
think?”
“If you think that would be best,” Nora nodded and watched as Zelda removed all the other shades and left
her with white heels. “How blinged out do you want them?” she asked, lining up a dozen pairs of shoes. “Can
you walk in heels?” she asked as an afterthought.
“I’d rather go with something with no bling, and yes, I can walk in heels,” Nora answered.
“Okay then, what about a nice lace–looking shoe?” she held up a pair of white lace open–toed heels, and Nora
took them from her, and tried them on, walked about in them and nodded “I think they’ll do nicely. She stated
and sat down to take them off. “Can I look at black heels while I’m here.”
“Black?” Zelda frowned a little.
“Yes, I don’t own any heels and a nice place pair will go with some of the clothes I’m planning to buy myself. They don’t need to be fancy, just comfortable to wear.” she smiled at Zelda. She didn’t want to be wearing
shoes that she could be unsteady in as she walked into the ballroom and up the stairs onto the stage, and
she didn’t want to trip as she made her exit either.
She chose a pair of simple 2–inch–high, wide–heeled black shoes to go under her dress. them. So, she was unconcerned about them being all fancy.

“Oh, I like those, Zelda.” She stated as she passed the jewelry cabinet, and saw a nice pair of crystal

chandelier earrings. They would add that little bit of bling to her dress.
“Hmm, I dare say the Alpha will buy you an entire matching set of jewelry for your Luna Ceremony” Zelda
stated.
“I like them though.” She smiled at Zelda.
“I’ll box them up with your shoes. Is there anything else you want Luna? Alpha Jace did say you could get whatever you wanted.”
“No, thank you, I’ll pay for the black shoes and the earrings myself,” she stated.
“That is not at all necessary.”
“It may not be, but I will be paying for them myself,” Nora stated and held out her bank card. “He may pay for everything to do with the Luna Ceremony, but I will buy my own things. I’ve been doing that all along, so I’ll
continue to do so.”
She could see that Zelda wasn’t overly happy about it, and she sighed as she tried to make a decision about
letting Nora pay for them or insisting on Jace paying for them,
“I’ll leave them here then, if you won’t take my money,” Nora stated simply.
“Luna, it’s just that…”
“I don’t really care what Jace said, I can pay for my own things. To be honest with you, Zelda, he’s never bought me anything, so why should I ask him to now? I don’t want his money.” She stated simply, “I also don’t need it,” and she didn’t. She would take nothing with her that he had bought, there would be nothing to
remind her of him other than the dress she was going to be leaving him in and that was going to be a
souvenir.
“No, no, no. It’s fine, I’ll ring them up.” Zelda finally caved in and let her pay for them. She left the store with two pairs of shoes and some nice earrings. She stopped and got herself coffee and took a picture of the shoes, and sent it to Gloria and then mind–linked to her ‘I sent you a picture of the shoes, though I don’t know if they will fit you. Perhaps you could exchange them for your size, though I wouldn’t do that with Zelda
herself.’
‘They are plain and ugly. I’ll buy something else‘
‘Alright.‘ She closed out the link and moved on to the packhouse after drinking her coffee, where she found the Alpha Unit’s mates all sitting about in the foyer. They stood upon her arrival and greeted her.
“Luna,”
She kind of just stared at them, and wondered why they were suddenly paying her attention. “Would you like to spend the day with us?” Marcia asked.
“No, thank you, Marcia. Just go about doing whatever it is you do on a normal day. Don’t concern yourselves with me, now,” she stated, and moyed on away from them.
She could hear them whispering about what they should do, go after her or not. They were going to try and get to know her, it seemed, likely only so they didn’t get in more trouble. She picked up her pace and trotted up the stairs to make it clear she didn’t want that. She dropped those shoes off at the Alpha Suite door and
walked away, down to her suite.
She stood in there and looked at her study gear. She’d had it all boxed up to come here, and was going to
2/3
have to do that once more to leave. Box up all her books to take them with her though how was she going to explain that? She sat and thought about it a lot, and realized there was an easy answer. She would wait until a few days prior to the ceremony and ask an Omega to bring her packing boxes to box up her things for easy moving of them.
Everyone would just think that she was moving back into the Alpha Suite, so that could actually work. All she
had to do was move her car to the side of the building where the omega stairs were and have it loaded up
during the middle of the night, when no one saw. Or she could just have it so her parents and Alpha Clayton
helped her move them at the time she left.
There really wasn’t that much, just three suitcases of clothes, and two boxes of books. That was all she’d
needed to move. She’d thought everything else would be provided for her, only she’d been very wrong on that
front, she’d never make that mistake again.
She pulled her heels out and put them on and walked about the room in them, to break them in. She was still wearing them when the doorbell chimed, and she could feel Jace on the other side. She wasn’t going to hide them, didn’t really care if he saw them. It was likely the first thing he’d done was mind–link to Zelda to find out
if she picked out shoes.
She, for the first time ever, got up and opened the door to greet him, yet again giving him something that would see him think she was coming around. He smiled right at her, and then looked down at her feet.” They’re pretty.” He smiled, “May I come in and show you the Luna jewelry I bought you.”
She shrugged, “If you don’t want it to be a surprise,” she stated and saw him hesitate for a moment, and then
he shook his head.
“No, I’d rather you know now, I’d like to explain it to you.”
“Explain it to me, does it need that?” she frowned as she turned and walked away from the door to go and sit down in that single armchair. She’d given him enough today. She wasn’t about to sit on a couch with him just
to make him feel better.
“I think, considering what I chose, yes I would like to explain it to you, so there is no misunderstanding about it, no confusion as to who I bought it for.” He nodded and sat down on the couch.
