He smiled at Nora as she opened the door, and even a little more at the shoes she was wearing, though he’d been unhappy about Zelda, telling him Nora had refused to put them on his account, that she had stated something along the lines of he could pay for the Luna Ceremony, and she’d buy her own things.
It actually was his job to pay for the Luna Ceremony. No, Luna was supposed to pay for it. It was seen as a gift from the Alpha to say thank you for his Luna accepting him. He’d just sighed to himself and let it go.
He’d spent most of his morning at Tiffinay’s trying to decide on the necklace and earring set he wanted to get her. Unfortunately, the one he thought was absolutely perfect was also likely going to make her think about
Gloria.
Because it was set with 17 Rubellites, a beautiful pinkish red stone, but it also had 590 Umber Sapphires and 2171 round cut brilliant Diamonds. There was a pair of matching earrings which actually symbolized the
name of the jewelry.
He sat on the couch and opened the two boxes, and turned them to face her. “It’s called the Pheonix. And as you can see, the earrings depict the wings of a phoenix,” he told her. “The necklace is designed to look like all the feathers of the phoenix, and those very pretty rubellites, are to symbolize when a phoenix dies in fire and
is reborn from its ashes, to start over new.
“I thought this was perfect for you and I, a statement piece to show we’re starting over again, that we can rise above everything that has happened, and come together once more. Pheonix’s are also known to be benevolent, wise and have patience to see things through; they are also known to mate for life.
“You, Nora, are my phoenix, benevolent even to me after all you’ve been through, I can also see just how strong you are, have the resilience of the grand phoenix, and you’re so very patient when you didn’t need to
“I’m also hoping that, with my full pledge of unending loyalty to you and Rosa, that Rosa will see her way to coming back as well. Rise up once more, just like a phoenix would.” he smiled at her gently.
She was just staring at it, and he could see the slight frown on her face. “Despite the color of the stones, I did not purchase this with anyone but you in mind. It’s the symbolization that I want for us as we come back together. If I could have gotten it in blue or green, I would have, but phoenixes are all about fire, so…” he trailed off as she looked at him, and he hoped that he had explained it properly to her.
“I understand what you’re trying to say,” she finally nodded. “It’s not going to go with the dress.”
“It will. I actually took a picture of the dress with me and the Umber Sapphires.” He pointed them out, and they were more of a gold color “actually go well with the champagne color, so they will tie it all in together, be perfect. Even the jeweler agreed with me.” he smiled at her. “I’ve got Zelda bringing up a mannequin to put your dress on, and then I’ll place the necklace on it. Would you like to come and see it on full display?”
Again, she was just staring at him, and he had a feeling it wasn’t that she didn’t want to, it was the fact that she’d have to go into the Alpha Suite, and she wasn’t ready to do that yet. He saw her shake her head no, eventually.
“Would you prefer that I have it set up in here?” he offered up instead. He would like for it to be in here so she

could see it all day, every day, and be reminded that he was truly working on bringing them back together
“No,” she stated, “It’s fine, I’m sure I’ll see it all come together on the day!
“Would you let me put them on you, now?” he asked tentatively, “I’d love to see it on you.”
She again was just staring at him. “I can only imagine it cost a large fortune, so it is probably best not to wear it unless one is required to.” she shook her head.
“Required to?” he asked with a frown. “I bought this as a gift; it’s not something I require you to wear. I also believe you deserve something this extravagant from me. I’ve been completely lacking in many areas of our mate bond, all the things I should have done for you. All the things we’ve lost, and just how broken we became… I know I can hardly make up for all the pain I have caused you and Rosa, but I’m also hoping that with this gift you can see I truly do mean everything I’ve said. That I want us to come back together.”
She nodded at him. “It’s very pretty.” She finally stated quietly, “You should probably put it in a safe. Not put it
on display.”
“No one inside this pack would dare to steal anything from me, from my suite, and something I bought just
for you, as your Luna gift from me; that would see their head come clean off.” He told her and he meant it.
She half smiled at him and then shook her head, and he smiled right back at her. She found it just a little
amusing that he would do that. That he thought was also a good sign. He reached out and closed the two
boxes. “How was your day?” he asked her, hoping she’d be willing to tell him something of her day.
“Fine, I just sat and read mostly.”
“I heard the Luna’s unit tried to engage with you?” he asked. He’d not been expecting them to, but it was nice
that they had tried of their own accord.
“Mm,” she nodded. “I didn’t know what to make of it to be completely honest with you. So, I just didn’t make
them or myself uncomfortable, with small talk, which none of us would know what to say to each other.”
He sighed a little. “I didn’t ask them to, if you’re wondering. I think the pack is actually seeing where
everything is wrong, and will start behaving properly. Treating you as the Luna, it will probably be a bit uncomfortable at first considering how you’ve been treated. But their intentions will be true.”
“If you say so.”
“Nora, no one inside this pack will ever disrespect you again, including myself. You were linked into my
announcement this morning. Thank you for not disconnecting it, for accepting it. I wasn’t sure if you would or
not. But I meant every word of it. If you feel like I’ve disrespected you, hurt your feelings, or belittled you in any way, just speak up and Mark will lash me for it. I will take full punishment for you. I don’t ever want to hurt you again,” he told her honestly.
She nodded at him and then tapped the box on the table. “You should go and put that away. Zelda will be
waiting, I imagine. I also left the shoes for the Luna Ceremony outside your suite.” She told him. “You can put
them with that dress.”
‘Your suite‘ he sighed internally to himself, not ‘our suite.‘ Something that still showed they were in fact still separated and apart. Sometimes he felt like he was making progress and other times he felt like he was going nowhere once again. But he understood that as his cue to leave, he stood. “Alright, may I look at them?
He asked as he picked up the two Tiffany boxes.
”
“If you like,” she nodded. “They, as Zelda put it, match the dress. I tried them on and walked about in them in
h
the store
“No issues wearing heels?” he asked. He’d never seen her wear them or nothing above an inch anyway
She lifted her foot all the way up in the air and waved her foot in that black heel at him and smiled as she did Go. “Not in these so, I guess not.”

He actually chuckled softly at her, and the way she waved her foot at him. It was cute and something she did without any thought he didn’t think, and she’d smiled properly for the first time. They were going to be fine, just still taking it slow was all. It was likely she would remain in this very room until the Luna Ceremony, he thought to himself.
“Good.” He smiled at her; he could allow that because it would show her. He respected her wishes and wasn’t just trying to get her back into his bed. “If you want to walk around in them and wear them in, I’d be only too happy to get them for you. Or of course, you could stroll into our suite and get them for yourself at any time you like.” He told her, reminding her it was their suite and not just his.
She nodded at him but said nothing. “I’ll leave you to it, I’ll be having dinner late this evening, say 7pm, instead of six like normal. If you wanted to join me, I’d really like that,” he told her before leaving the room.
He returned to his suite to find Zelda in there, just pulling that dress onto the mannequin, and she smiled at him, “Alpha, I brought the shoes inside.” She told him.
“Thank you,” he nodded.
“How’d it go with Nora?” she asked him.
“Better.” He half smiled. “Everything to do with the Luna Ceremony, I dare say, will stay in here until either day of, or a few days beforehand.”
“Hmm, just be patient, she never left Jace, and most would have rejected the other by now, and left.” she nodded to him.
“I know and I will be.” He told her, and he was going to be. It was all he could do if he wanted her to forgive him, and give him a second chance. To have her, stay here with him as their Goddess had paired them up to
be together.
