Revenge served in a black dress (Nora and Jace) novel Chapter 66

CH 66

Nora

She could well imagine that the necklace and earring set was worth a fortune, and to hear him state he would take the head off anyone that dared to steal it, because it was for her, his Luna Gift to her. Well, let’s just see if he would take the head of the shewolf that was going to be wearing it.

If he was going to put it on that mannequin, then Gloria, when she went in to get that dress for herself, would not only see that necklace. She would see the color of it and buy into her own delusion that Jace had bought it with her mind, not Nora.

She had no doubts at all that Gloria was going to take that necklace with her as well. She would take it all and put it on and wear everything Jace had purchased for the Luna Ceremony, just like Nora wanted her to do. She wanted that shewolf to walk into the ballroom wearing the gown and shoes, that jewelry, as if she

was the Luna and Nora was still nothing.

She was hoping to time it out all perfectly as well have Gloria all dressed up and ready to enter the ballroom. right after Jace made some comment about her not wearing the dress and jewelry he’d bought for the Luna Ceremony. Then bam Gloria would walk in wearing them all, and it would look to this pack as though he’d tailored everything to the woman he loved, not his Mate.

She already knew that Jace hated being made to look like a fool, and she was going to do that to him, in front of his pack, in front of her parents and her former Alpha. Hit him where it hurt, his pride. He would either plead ignorance as to what was going on, or he would react to Gloria wearing everything he’d bought her. She wondered if he’d keep his word and take that woman’s head clean off.

Would he do it then and there in front of everyone? Go and yell at her, rant and rave about her wearing Nora’s dress and jewelry, humiliate that b***h of shewolf in front of the entire pack? Or would he just have that woman hauled out of the room by his warriors to be seen to be dealt with later? If he did that, she was dead certain that she wouldn’t be dealt with at all.

He couldn’t lay a hand on the woman he loved, and certainly wasn’t going to do it for Nora. She’d heard him state she could, but that he couldn’t. She didn’t think it was because he couldn’t. No, way down deep inside she knew he didn’t want to and that was all there was to it.

She didn’t really care about why he bought that jewelry, the meaning behind it, that he took the time to sit and tell her about it, because it meant nothing to her at all. Compared her to a Phoenix, and said she was benevolent. Maybe once she could have been considered that.

Not anymore, if anything, she was like a Raven now, a bird that was considered to be highly intelligent and had a good memory. They not only recognized faces but didn’t forget those that harmed them, they were also good at problemsolving to get what they wanted. They were adaptable to their changing environment, and were known to use mimicry to deceive their prey, making them versatile survivors, which is how she saw herself now. A survivor that would extract revenge upon the ones that hurt them, she had a long life and her memory would likely never falter in who it was that hurt her.

But seeing that necklace beforehand and knowing that this pack would see it as being something that would be tailored to Gloria’s preference for red things. That would fit into her plans neatly, and she’d not even had to do anything to get it. He’d done that all on his own.

Everything it seemed was falling into place, and Jace actually thought he could fix things by buying her off with a Luna Geremony and gifting her expensive Jewelry, How little he knew her. She’d not needed to get scholarship to go to university, Alpha Clayton would have paid for it, without Issue, like he did all the pack members. Then a payment plan to pay the pack back would have been attended upon completion of it.

She’d simply thought it was better to get a scholarship if she could and not owe the Alpha any money. She didn’t want to owe anyone anything unless it was necessary. She had been tutoring the pack kids since she was like 14, because she had a good grasp on math and english, physics even. She was smart and could explain things in a way that was more studentfriendly than a textbook.

Make it less confusing for those that struggled with understanding it. She also had the patience to go over it multiple times, and not get frustrated when a student didn’t get it right away.

Jace thought everything could be bought and paid for she supposed, including her forgiveness. Only he wasn’t going to get it, because there was none to be had not from her, and not from Rosa. She just wanted to hurt him as much as he had her. And Rosa wanted to hurt that shewolf that had clung to another’s Mate uncaring of how it made her feel.

Willingly caused her pain and tormented her. They both just wanted to show Jace, he couldn’t get away with all he’d done to them, and her revenge was getting closer by the day.

She mindlinked to Gloria to let her know what was going on and keep that woman on the hook. Sorry for the

intrusion, Luna, I just thought I’d let you know Jace has purchased Luna Jewelry that it is, of course, tailored

your preferences. Rubies and Diamonds, I believe,’

Of course he did. Everything about this ceremony is for me. The dress he picked for you is even in my style. I

told him what to bring up to you that first day. He just smiled at me and nodded. We knew you’d reject it because it was tailored to myself. Makes you out to be very childish, which is what he wants the pack to see

you as.

She ignored the obvious taunt to have her arc up and see if she was going to go back on her words. I refused to let him put it on me when he offered to do so. I know it’s for you and that you wouldn’t want it to be tainted before you wear it. It’s, I believe, with the dress in his suite. She made sure not to state their suite. She didn’t know if Gloria would take that as meaning her and Jace or Nora and Jace. So it was safer to state his suite. She also didn’t state the Alpha Suit because she didn’t think he was at all worthy of his title.

So, you shouldn’t, you should, of course, know your place inside this pack and not touch things that belong to me. Regardless of the show he’s putting on for everyone inside this pack, they all know it’s me he loves and cherishes, and you’ll see it at that Luna Ceremony, I assure you.

Best you leave that dress and jewelry in his suite right up until the day before your ceremony, so he doesn’t think I’ve claimed it. I’d rather not take a beating from him, or be put on the shaming post for insulting you Luna. You can give me that courtesy, seeing as I’m leaving of my own free will and handing him to you, yes?I don’t see why not. I’ll likely get to wear it before then anyway, walk around in that suite with it all on for him to smile at and get all turned on by it.’ she chuckled nastily.

Don’t cause me pain. That is the one thing that will see me out the two of you as harming me on purpose *^ this pack. You don’t want to be seen as a Luna that causes pains of betrayal in others now, do you?she stated, and couldn’t even hide the smile in her voice, because two could play the game.

She closed out the link as she felt annoyance come from Gloria. It was likely annoyance because she

couldn’t get Jace to touch her at all anymore. The man had turned away from her, and kickaot packhouse, all in order to make Nora feel more comfortable. To be seen as showing her he wanted her

Gloria had no grip at all on Jace anymore. She was just so blinded by the 60 years of being with him, that are thought if Nora rejected him, he would turn back to her. Open his arms and claim her for himself, but who would want that, it would just mean she was second in his eyes.

That was something Nora understood all too well. Coming second in Jace’s eyes, it wasn’t a nice feeling at all, and she wondered just how long it was going to take that shewolf to know this. Or did she just not care to think it. She had to know Jace had turned away from her completely. That’s why she was still sticking her nose in and telling Nora things that would see her want to reject Jace.

That shewolf no longer had any idea what he was telling Nora, because she couldn’t stand around inside the packhouse, lean on the Luna Office door or in the foyer or up on the fourthfloor landing and listen to their arguments or conversations. To work out how to spin it to her liking.

She could only go off what she heard around the pack, though Nora didn’t doubt her friends were telling her what was going on. They probably all wanted Gloria back in the seat of power, paying for everything with that Luna’s card she had.
