When his secretary mentioned Wendy, Cramer immediately thought of Vivian.

At this time of day, she was probably preparing dinner for him with care.

“Go find out where Mrs. Cullinan and Vivian went,” he ordered.

“Mr. Cullinan?” The secretary looked at him in surprise.

Did this even need guessing? Clearly what happened during the day was just a staged performance by Wendy and Vivian. How could they possibly have gone out together?

But Cramer was starting to doubt himself. “Maybe Vivian didn’t mean to avoid me. Maybe she really wasn’t there… or maybe Wendy kept her locked away.”

Though he didn’t know Vivian well, he could recognize a woman’s feelings.

And he was certain–Vivian genuinely liked him.

If she liked him, and he had already come all the way to Wendy’s doorstep, then she should have come out to see him.

The more he thought about it, the more convinced he became.

That had to be the reason Vivian hadn’t shown herself earlier in the day.

“I remember that guard said they’d be back tonight, right?”

“Yes… he did say that. He told us to come back tonight. But honestly, why should we give Mrs. Cullinan this much face?”

After all, it was Wendy who had caused Leo’s death and tampered with the will.

That man had been Mr. Cullinan’s father.

For years, Cramer had thought of nothing but avenging himself against Wendy.

And now… why was he entangled with Vivian?

“Vivian is already my fiancée,” Cramer said coldly. “Bringing her home is about the Cullinan family’s honor. Wendy just took her goddaughter back to her own house–doesn’t that spit on our rules?”

By their family tradition, the future Mrs. Cullinan had to live at the family estate and study the rules. Yet only a few days after moving in, Vivian had left. Clearly she didn’t take him seriously.

With no other choice, the secretary followed his orders.

That night, he drove Cramer once more to Wendy’s gate.

As soon as they stepped out of the car, a guard was already waiting, as though expecting them. “Mr. Cullinan, our madam already knows you came earlier today. But she told me to deliver a message–she intends to cancel the engagement and find another match for Miss Vivian. So, Mr. Cullinan, there’s no need for you to come again.”

The secretary’s face darkened. “What? Mrs. Cullinan thinks she can cancel an engagement just like that? Without even discussing it with Mr. Cullinan first? Does she take us for nothing?”

Wendy herself had introduced Vivian as the Cullinan family’s future daughter–in–law before the guests overseas. Now everyone knew she was Cramer’s fiancée, the future Mrs. Cullinan. And yet Wendy, with a single word, wanted to dissolve it.

Without warning, without consultation–this was nothing less than open disrespect.

“Where is Wendy now?” Cramer asked.

“She’s at home…”

Before the guard could finish, Cramer had already ordered his men to kick open the iron gates.

The estate’s alarms went off at once.

Cramer’s men stormed inside, and the bodyguards rushed out in response.

“Stand aside, or bear the consequences,” Cramer commanded.

The guards exchanged uneasy glances. Faced with him, none dared move.

Just then, Wendy herself emerged from the house. “Stand down.”

At her word, the guards backed off one by one.

She approached Cramer. “What wind has blown Mr. Cullinan here today? You hardly ever visit my little villa.”

Cramer’s gaze was ice cold. “Mrs. Cullinan, perhaps you should explain why you’re canceling the engagement.”

Vivian’s silent return earlier had already angered him.
