Chapter 586 The Secret Behind the Surgery
“What if I have work to report to my boss?”
Soren’s manager frowned. “Are you telling me I can’t even go upstairs to see him?”

“My deepest apologies,” the clinic manager replied smoothly. “Our VIP suites are reserved exclusively for the guest themselves. You may communicate by phone if you wish. Please be assured, our company never engages in eavesdropping.”
The manager’s words didn’t erase all suspicion, but the agent didn’t show it on the surface.
“Your services must be expensive. Send the exact figures to my phone. Within half a month, my boss’s arm must be flawless again.”
“Naturally. You have our word.”
Satisfied for the moment, the agent glanced down at his phone, checking a safety message from Soren before finally leaving Ventus.
The manager turned serious at once. “Prepare everything for surgery. The doctor arrives
tomorrow.”
“Understood. Arrangements are already underway.”
“And make sure the reports match the donor registry. The burn depth, surface area, and graft size must align perfectly. No mistakes tolerated.”
“Yes, manager.”
Only then did she leave, confident the preparations were in motion.
Meanwhile, Eliza sat staring at her phone. Still no word from Soren himself. Instead, his manager had messaged her: Soren was in a VIP suite on the fifth floor of Ventus.
Exactly where Nolan had scouted the day before.
Her suspicions were confirmed. The fifth floor was reserved for “special” projects.
Soren’s fame and urgent condition had given him immediate access. Still, Eliza couldn’t help worrying. He was genuinely injured, and no one could predict what might happen during
surgery.
“I put ten million into Ventus yesterday. In a few days, I’ll go back myself. With that much money on account, they can’t keep me from the fifth floor.”

Nolan’s gaze softened. “I trust your judgment. Just promise me one thing–protect yourself.”
Ventus wouldn’t dare touch Eliza, not without evidence. She was the Sue family heiress. And Nolan would have his men shadow her from outside, just in case.
Inside the VIP suite, Soren had already been examined by foreign doctors.
“I asked the city doctors,” he began, his tone calm but firm. “They all said I’d need a skin graft. But I won’t allow a piece of my own skin to be cut and moved. You understand me?”
“Mr. Hayes, rest assured,” a staff member replied. “We have our own donor registry. If a match is found, the graft can proceed.”
“But isn’t it illegal to transplant someone else’s skin?”
Soren deliberately pressed the point. The staff member stiffened at first, but Soren added smoothly, “I’m a law–abiding citizen. Surely it won’t be discovered, right?”
That reassurance eased the man’s nerves. He recited a polished line: “Please don’t worry. No one is forced to donate. All sign confidentiality agreements, and of course they’re paid well. It’s voluntary. Think of it as a good deed, Mr. Hayes. A single strip of skin can earn someone millions. Many are eager.”
The casual way he said it told Soren everything. Clearly, this had been done many times before.
Outwardly, he remained indifferent, nodding faintly. “The skin–do you take it fresh?”
“Absolutely. Always fresh.”
“Then I need to see whose skin it is before it’s placed on me. Otherwise, I can’t trust it.”
The staff hesitated. “Mr. Hayes, our rules forbid contact between donor and recipient. We ask for your understanding.”
“And if I pay extra to see?”
“Apologies, but no. That is not negotiable. If you insist, you’ll have to go elsewhere.”
Soren saw he had reached the line they would not cross. He dropped the demand, letting it go.
After all, his goal wasn’t just the surgery
–
he was here to uncover the truth.
