Chapter 101
She got in the car and followed him to the Elite Military Academy.
The man said, “Miss Everton, in your case, you won’t actually need to go through the full training at our academy.

“As long as you pass the tests, you’ll be sent straight to the military district for real assignments. Most likely, your post will be
at…”
Narissa cut him off. “The S–Class Secret Base in the Northern Military District, right?”
The man was completely taken aback.
He thought, ‘Who is this girl?
‘How does she know about the S–Class Secret Base?‘
The Northern Military District wasn’t exactly a secret, but it was home to three powerhouse teams, the military, intelligence, and special agents.
The most secretive group of all was the special agents stationed at the S–Class Secret Base.
Word was, this team was packed with Rothialand’s brightest minds from every field.
These weren’t just the kind of geniuses known to the commoners. These were the freakishly talented, the ones whose skills could practically defy the heavens.
Their abilities were downright monstrous.
The one everyone dreamed of becoming was the legendary number one agent at the very top of the pyramid–001.
The guy never expected Narissa to casually mention 001’s turf right off the bat.
That place wasn’t somewhere just anyone could set foot in.
The man stammered, “Well… Miss Everton, you’re right about the military district, but which team you end up on depends on your abilities.
“Getting into the S–Class Secret Base takes more than just fighting skills.”
“I know. If they’re interested in my abilities, they’ll reach out to me,” Narissa replied confidently.
“You know about that?” The man was even more shocked.
The way the special agents picked their people was always top secret, yet Narissa not only knew about the secret base, she even seemed to know how the team chose its members.
He wondered, ‘Just who is this girl?
‘How does she know all this?‘
“I just looked up some info, nothing to fuss about,” Narissa said with a shrug.

Narissa followed the man to the military academy. After she finished the enrollment process, her profile was immediately entered into the high–level system used by the military district.
Any team looking for new members could use this candidate pool to screen and match people for their needs.
Only those who fit the criteria would even get a shot at being tested by different teams.
As soon as Narissa’s profile was uploaded, both the military and intelligence teams immediately locked onto her.
They each sent her invitations to join their assessments, but there was still one place that stayed completely silent.
That was the special agents.
Narissa couldn’t care less about that. All she wanted was to get into the military district smoothly so she could openly go back without Bastien ever suspecting who she really was.
She was killing several birds with one stone.
She felt that this plan was not bad at all.
Just as Narissa was heading back in a great mood, thinking about squeezing in a workout somewhere, her phone suddenly
rang.

The caller ID showed an online virtual number–the emergency contact she and the special ops team had set up for urgent situations.
‘Did something happen to the special ops team?‘ she wondered.
Narissa picked up right away, and Octopus’s voice came through, sounding really anxious.
He said, “Boss, something happened. This time it’s huge!”
“What is it?” Narissa asked, really not in the mood for bad news after barely two days of peace.
The next second, Octopus let out a miserable sigh. “It’s that idiot, Seahorse. We sent him to the island to grab the Blood Ruby.
“He was just supposed to hand it in, but somehow he blew his cover while picking it up, and Bastien managed to snap a photo of his face.
“Now Bastien has him locked up in the interrogation chamber that the Northern Military District’s intelligence unit uses just for prisoners.
“That place is hell on earth–even when we went through our tests there, we barely made it out alive.
“Plus, Seahorse had just finished a dangerous mission before grabbing the ruby.
“He was already injured. There’s no way he’ll be able to withstand the torture this time.
“Boss, what do we do now…”
