Your Queen is Back Surrender Now novel Chapter 103

Chapter 103

If someone had to die, she’d make sure it was her.

She’d sworn an oath to that long ago.

With grim resolve, Narissa slipped into the intelligence division’s surveillance zone, moving like a shadow in the night.

To dodge every single camera in this place, she had to know the exact location of each one and be ready to counter every move on the fly.

Narissa hadn’t done any preparation before coming.

She could have just hacked into the military district’s surveillance system and altered the footage, so no one would ever know she was there.

But this was the most critical military district in Rothialand. If her actons gave a real spy the chance to slip in and steal top- secret intel, she wouldn’t forgive herself.

This was something she absolutely had to prevent.

So she relied entirely on her keen observation skills and lightningfast speed, evading the camerassweep time and again.

Still, no matter how careful Narissa was, there were two close calls where she almost got caught.

If it hadn’t been for someone passing by at just the right moment to block the camera, she would’ve been exposed.

Meanwhile, Seahorse was being interrogated in the interrogation room.

It was less an interrogation and more outright torture.

After all, stealing the Blood Ruby from an international auction and then having the guts to pull off the deal right in Rothialand was a slap in the face to everyone in power.

The only reason he wasn’t dead already was that they were feeling generous.

Relying on her deductions, Narissa slipped past each camera along the way until she finally arrived at the intelligence division’s most dangerous spotthe interrogation room.

This was where Seahorse was being held.

One of the interrogators said, Mr. Harlow, this guy’s tough as nails. Even if we keep pressing, he won’t spill anything useful.

If he can’t hold on and dies on us, we’ll lose our only leverage to lure Fox out.

Why don’t we wrap it up for today? Get someone to check him over, and we’ll continue the interrogation tomorrow.

The interrogator saw Seahorse was barely hanging on and reported to Bastien.

Bastien swept his gaze over Seahorse and saw the guy was just about at his limit. So he finally nodded and left, agreeing to his subordinate’s suggestion.

Mr. Harlow, since it’s rare for you to drop by, how about giving our defense system an upgrade?” one of the officers suggested.

Bastien nodded and told him to make the arrangements.

As Bastien and his men left the interrogation room, they brushed right past Narissa, who was disguised as a member of the intelligence division.

Narissa walked at an easy, unhurried pace, not giving herself away in the slightest.

As Bastien passed her, he took a couple of steps, then suddenly stopped.

Something just didn’t sit right. He turned around to look at the figure walking away, but he couldn’t see anything wrong.

After all, that soldier’s bearing was impossible to imitate. Her stride and her posture was flawless. Bastien wondered if his instincts were wrong.

Narissa turned the corner into the hallway, finally slipping out of Bastien’s line of sight.

She let out a sigh of relief.

For a second there, she really thought she was about to get caught.

Luckily, she was a toptier agent secretly trained by the country. If there was one thing she never lacked, it was that unmistakable aura unique to Rothialand’s soldiers.

But it was Narissa’s chameleonlike adaptability that truly made her the chief among elite agents.

She could pull off any disguiseeven impersonating a male soldier, or Bastienwithout ever giving herself away.

Narissa dodged every camera and took out the guards without a sound, making her way straight to the room where Seahorse was locked up.

The doctor had just patched Seahorse up just enough to keep him from dying.

But the torture he’d been through was brutal.

When Narissa saw the state Seahorse was in, she was so furious she could’ve blown the whole place to pieces.

But she still knew her priorities..

If she’d come across a suspicious person without knowing the full story, she would’ve done exactly what Bastien did.

When it came to national security, nothing else mattered.

Narissa crouched down and gave Seahorse a light slap to wake him up.

Seahorse blinked groggily, his mind still foggy. For a split second, he felt like he’d fight whoever was in front of him, even if it cost him his life.

Before he could react, Narissa spoke up first. Seahorse, it’s me.”

Seahorse stared blankly for a couple of seconds before it finally sank in.

Boss? Boss, is that really you?he stammered.

It’s me. I’m here to save you,” Narissa said, her tone calm and reassuring.

Tears welled up in Seahorse’s eyes. He thought he’d screwed up so badly that the team would just cut him loose. But to his

shock, Narissa had come to save him.

He didn’t even have the strength to wipe away his tears. Lying there, weak and barely hanging on, he managed to croak out, Boss, I didn’t say a word

He did not reveal a single thing about the team or the intelligence division.

I know, Seahorse. As an agent of Rothialand and as one of my own, you’ve done more than enough,Narissa said.

Seahorse was even more moved, his voice trembling as he choked out, Boss, I heard you found your family. I thought maybe you’d want to retire and leave us behind

Honestly, it wasn’t just Seahorse who felt this way. Octopus and the others had the same worries.

They were all orphans, handpicked by the country for their exceptional talents.

But then one day, Narissa actually found her real family. It was only natural for the others to worry that her heart might not be in it anymore.

If she ever got tired of all the fighting and danger, she could just walk away.

They were all afraid she might leave their agent family behind.

Narissa ruffled his hair with a cocky grin. Hey, you’re a grown man. What’s with the tears? Like I’d ever give up on you guys.

She would never abandon a single one in her family.
