She and Kit got into the elevator and headed upstairs.

“When we get there, just stay behind me and keep quiet,” Athena told him. “Let me handle the talking with Albas.”

Kit nodded seriously. “Got it.”

Ding! The elevator stopped on the sixth floor. Athena led the way out. The young receptionist noticed them and smiled politely. “Hello, how may I help you?”

“I’m here to see Mr. Blaise.”

“Please wait a moment,” the receptionist said before heading inside.

In his office, Albas had just finished a call when the receptionist knocked and came in. “Mr. Blaise, there’s a man and a woman outside asking to see you.”

He frowned. “Who are they?”

“I’m not sure. They don’t have an appointment.”

“Send them in.”

Albas‘ frown grew deeper. He’d just returned to work after summer camp, and already someone wanted to see him on his first day back. Could it be Athena?

When Athena and Kit stepped into the office, Albas let out a mocking laugh.

So he’d guessed right. His eyes swept over Kit, and he scoffed inwardly.

A handful of photos fell out. When he saw the contents, his expression shifted instantly. He shot her a glare and snapped, “Where did you get these?!”

The photos showed him with his mistress, and they took their child to the amusement park.

His company had been bankrolled by his father–in–law, and most of the later investments came from him as well. Everything Albas had was thanks to Pandra’s family.

Even though he’d been cheating, he’d always kept that part of his life hidden.

He never imagined Athena would find out.

Now it made sense why she dared to confront him alone. She had his secrets and had him cornered.

A sharp glint flashed in Albas‘ eyes.

But soon, his expression softened into a smug smile, as if none of it mattered to him.
