Athena nodded slightly, her tone turning cold. “Or maybe he’s got a more powerful support. Even if I expose everything, he’s not scared of losing anything.”

Then, she suddenly remembered something Kit had mentioned before.

“Didn’t you say Zaden’s mom was involved? Maybe she’s the one backing Albas up. probably why he’s not afraid of me exposing his mistress or that kid!”

Athena rolled her eyes. “Didn’t you tell me to stay away from Zaden? Now you want me to go to him?”

Kit snorted. “If his mom is tangled up in this, he’s the only one who can help you. I could step in, but if the Rices get dragged into it, be ready for what comes next.”

She didn’t even think twice.

Between Zaden and the Rices, she chose Zaden right away.

She quickly explained everything to Harriet.

Harriet stayed quiet for a bit before asking, “You’re saying Zaden’s mom is involved? Seriously? How’d you find that out?”

“I asked someone to check,” Athena said.

“Was it Kit?”

Harriet let out a sarcastic laugh. She already knew Athena had turned down Zaden’s help because Kit had stepped in. So why go to Zaden now?

Maybe Kit was useless?

If that was true, then this could be Zaden’s chance.

Athena noticed the odd tone in Harriet’s voice, realizing she didn’t trust Kit much.
