Athena only felt like herself again once she flopped onto her bed after getting home. Earlier, Zaden had driven her back and dropped a shocking confession on her before she could even process it, and then he left.

Though Zaden had seemed completely serious and genuine, Athena’s head was spinning with questions. She figured she’d have to find a chance to talk to him again soon.

That night, Athena couldn’t fall asleep at all.

The next morning, she woke up with dark circles under her eyes.

After getting ready quickly, she went straight to Storm Group. Zaden’s revelation from yesterday had left too many blanks, and she’d spent the whole night replaying it in her mind.

She’d made up her mind. She needed answers from Zaden.

By now, Athena was a familiar face at Storm Group, and everyone there was used to seeing her.

“Ms. Hall, this way please.” The secretary greeted her respectfully and led her toward the meeting room. Even though that viral news about Athena had shaped how people saw her, and she’d been brushed off a few times before, Tommy had made it clear that no one was to treat her poorly. No one dared to cross her now.

Soon, Athena was seated in the meeting room.

She had just taken a sip of coffee when Zaden walked in.

He was dressed sharply, his black suit fitting perfectly, his tall frame exuding quiet confidence and power.

With his neutral expression, he looked downright intimidating.

Athena suddenly recalled the first time they met.

He’d looked just as composed back then, though her attention had been all on Teri. Zaden had been attractive, sure, but she hadn’t paid him much mind.

Athena cleared her throat. “I came to discuss something. Is now a good time?”

Zaden’s gaze softened. He checked his watch and said in a calm tone, “It’s almost lunchtime. Wait here, and we’ll talk over lunch.”

“Alright.” Athena agreed.

Zaden then turned and left to handle his work.

This time, waiting for him didn’t feel pointless. Athena actually felt at case.

Luckily, Zaden didn’t take long, and he came back soon after.

“Let’s go.”

They left the building together, catching the attention of several employees.

Lately, Athena had been the subject of office gossip. From what her ex–husband had said, everyone knew she wasn’t really with Zaden.

She’d been visiting Storm Group often these past few days, always waiting for him.

Just then, Tommy walked by. Someone quickly pulled him aside and asked, “Mr. Croft, what’s the story with Athena and Mr. Storm? Is she going to be the next Mrs. Storm?”

Tommy, who’d worked with Zaden the longest, knew exactly what was happening but he wasn’t about to tell them. He just gave a knowing smile and said, “You’ll find out soon enough.”

Then he walked away.

“What was that supposed to mean?”

“So are they together or not?”

Meanwhile, Athena had no clue she was the center of office gossip. Zaden had taken her to an upscale restaurant.

It was a high–end place with few diners at lunchtime.

They sat in a private booth, and Zaden handed Athena the menu.
