From Betrayal to Brilliance Her Rise to a New Life novel Chapter 242

Chapter 242 She’s Bleeding

Lewis shoved her hard, and Nina stumbled back, slamming to the floor.

Her head hit with a heavy thud, and blood started spreading beneath her.

Lewis just stared at her, his mind blank, watching the red pool grow bigger.

He stood there for a long moment, frozen in place.

He didn’t even move to help her.

Finished

Nina let out a faint groan, her voice weak and shaky as she reached out toward him. “Lewis, it hurts… Please … take me to the hospital. My head is spinning …

Lewis took one step toward her, then stopped.

A dark, twisted thought crossed his mind.

If Nina died, he’d finally be free. No one could threaten him anymore.

Sure, he had Anna back, but Nina was still dangerous. She was always lingering nearby, always ready to blackmail him again.

If she were gone, everything would be easier.

Yeah. Nina should just die.

His eyes turned cold and sharp. He looked more determined than ever.

Anna saw Nina bleeding on the floor and shrank behind Lewis, trembling. “She … she’s bleeding so much…

Even though she feared Nina, seeing her like that filled her with worry and unease.

Lewis sneered, grabbed Anna’s hand, and said, “Let’s go.”

Then, he completely ignored Nina, turned around, and left with Anna.

Nina’s vision blurred. She could barely see Lewis as he walked away. Despair swallowed her whole.

He really left.

He didn’t care about her at all and walked away coldly!

Nina’s voice faded until everything went dark.

In the car, Lewis took a deep breath and pulled out his phone.

“Get rid of any record of me meeting Nina today,” he told his assistant.

The assistant didn’t get why, but he agreed anyway.

After hanging up, Lewis stepped on the gas and sped off.

If Nina died, that would be perfect. He’d already covered his tracks, so no one could link her death to him. Even if she survived, that didn’t matter. All that mattered was having Anna back.

Athena was pacing the room when the doorbell rang.

She went to check cautiously, expecting Lewis. But when she looked through the peephole, it was Zaden.

She opened the door quickly, frowning in confusion. “Why are you here?”

Zaden walked right in and sat on the couch like it was his place. Athena shut the door and went to grab him a glass of water.

But then, he said, “I found your daughter.”

The second Zaden mentioned her daughter, Athena’s mind went blank. She hurried over and blurted out, “Really? Where is she? Is she okay?”

“Relax. I’ve got someone following Lewis. We can head there now.”

Athena didn’t waste another second. She grabbed her things, ready to go with him.

But before they could leave, her phone rang.

She looked at the screen, and her expression changed instantly.
