The three of them bought a lot of groceries, each carrying a couple of bags on their way home. Harriet carried most of them. Teri tried to help too.

Among the three, Athena was the one holding the least.

Athena looked at Teri, who was struggling to lift a bag. She asked worriedly, Teri, are you sure you can carry that? Let me help.”

No way! You hurt your leg, Athena. You shouldn’t carry heavy things.

Teri’s little face was serious. She was someone with principle.

Athena felt a wave of warmth in her heart.

Teri was such a caring child. She was different from Dion, who was always selfish and only thought about himself.

She remembered one time when she had twisted her ankle, yet Dion still insisted that she take him to the amusement park. She didn’t want to disappoint him, so she went along.

By the end of the day, Dion was too tired to walk and demanded that she carry him. He didn’t care that she was already hurt. As a result, her ankle got worse and took weeks to heal.

Athena pushed those thoughts away.

That was the past.

Teri, on the other hand, didn’t look tired at all. She was full of energy and excitement, more cheerful than before.

When they reached the building, they ran into Zaden.

He was wearing a sharp, tailored suit that made him look refined and elegant. Zaden instantly drawing people’s attention. As soon as he saw Athena, he walked over and took the bags from her hands.

Harriet’s eyes widened with clear dissatisfaction.

Seriously? She was carrying the most stuff; why wasn’t he helping her instead?

But then she thought it through, and her mood flipped.

Zaden was different when it came to Athena.

He had never shown interest in women before. No one had ever seen him treat a woman kindly, let alone smile at one.

Didn’t that mean Athena was one step closer to becoming her sisterinlaw?

They went upstairs together, carried everything into the kitchen, and started working. Of course, nobody let Athena handle everything alonethey split the tasks.

Zaden took off his suit jacket and rolled up the sleeves of his shirt.

Athena didn’t hesitate to assign him to chopping vegetables.

Harriet took care of washing them, while Teri focused on picking the leaves. Everyone had their tasks. It was Teri’s first time doing anything like this, but she worked so hard and carefully that her little face glowed with joy.

After all that teamwork, they finally ended up with a spread of hearty meals.

Harriet looked proudly at the dishes on the table and said to Zaden, “See? That day at my place, Athena didn’t even go all out. Tell me she’s not the perfect wife material!

Zaden nodded slightly in agreement.

He added calmly, No one is born to be a housewife. A woman who gives up her career to focus on her family deserves respect, but that kind of sacrifice shouldn’t be glorified.”

Harriet couldn’t help giving him a thumbsup. Well said.

Athena, listening from the side, felt a wave of emotion rise inside her.

Zaden truly respected women, something Lewis could never do.

Lewis had always treated her like an accessory, believing a housewife should depend on her husband. Maybe that was exactly why he felt so free to be with Nina.

Just then, Athena’s phone started ringing.

When she saw the caller ID, her expression darkened instantly. Her good mood vanished.

It was Bridget.

Athena had already blocked Lewis’s number but hadn’t blocked Bridget’s. The last time she had spoken to her was when Bridget unknowingly helped her teach Lewis and Nina a lesson. Since then, there has been

no contact.

She wondered what the call was about.

I’ll take this outside,Athena said softly, stepping onto the balcony with her phone,

Out on the balcony, Athena took a deep breath and mentally prepared herself before answering.
