Zaden flipped through the papers carefully. The office was silent, except for the faint sound of paper brushing between his long fingers.

After a moment, he set the documents down, expression calm.

“These aren’t enough.”

“Huh?” Harriet frowned at him with a sour face. “What’s wrong with them? I worked hard on this, and I think it’s pretty solid.”

She was confident. Harriet had spent days preparing the information. But clearly, Zaden didn’t

agree.

“I’ll have the legal team redo it,” he said simply.

Then he pressed the intercom and asked Tommy to come in and handle it.

Harriet’s eyes lit up instantly in delight. Storm Group’s lawyers were legendary–powerful enough to shake the entire city of Vlephia.

With them on board, Athena was definitely going to win this divorce against that jerk!

A few minutes later, Tommy came back.

He glanced at Harriet, then said, “Mr. Storm, I found something interesting.”

Both Zaden and Harriet turned to look at him.

“The man helping Ms. Hall with her divorce case, Kit Rice, he’s not an ordinary person.”

Zaden knew there was a man around Athena, but since the guy had nothing to do with her personally, he didn’t bother to care.

“I remember that man,” Harriet said. “After I got involved in Athena’s case, I met him once. What’s wrong with him?”

Tommy hesitated for a second before replying, “He might be the heir of the Rices.”

Harriet froze. “Wait–are you talking about the Rices? The mysterious, never–in–the–public–eye family? Didn’t Maya and you you know… have a thing back then? And after you broke up, both families completely cut ties?”

As soon as she said it, Harriet realized she had gone too far and shut her mouth.

Though distantly related to the Storms, Harriet had never truly mixed with the upper–class circle. She only knew bits and pieces of gossip about those powerful families, most of it from magazines or news reports.

So when she’d met Kit, she hadn’t recognized him at all.

At the mention of that name, Zaden’s expression shifted slightly, as if something old and buried flickered across his mind. The air turned heavy.

Harriet gave a nervous laugh and tried to lighten the mood. “Didn’t expect Athena to get the heir of the Rices to help her. She’s got more charm than I thought.”

Silence. The atmosphere in the room grew even more tense.

Harriet instantly regretted it. She knew the Rices was the one topic Zaden never wanted to hear about. And now she had gone and poked the bear.

Why did I have to bring that up! Great, now it’s super awkward.

Trying to break the awkwardness, she forced a smile. “So what should we do now?”

Zaden’s voice was calm but cold. “Do what I said earlier. What other people did doesn’t concern

us.”

It was clear he was going to ignore Kit.

“Got it,” Harriet said quickly. “I’ll go meet with the lawyers about the next steps.”

Then she rushed out of the office like she was escaping a crime scene.

Tommy also didn’t dare to stay behind. “Mr. Storm, I’ll head out too.”

When the office finally went quiet, Zaden loosened his tightly furrowed brows and let out a quiet breath.

Some memories were better left buried–like dust settling after a storm.

Time passed quickly, and the day of the birthday party arrived.

Harriet had insisted on going with Athena. When she saw Athena dressed in a simple, casual outfit, she nearly gasped. “Athena, you’re not seriously planning to crash the party dressed like that, are you? With your simple clothes, how are you supposed to outshine Nina?”

Athena couldn’t help but laugh at her words. “Do you think I’m going there to compete in a beauty pageant?
