“Tommy, assist Athena in collecting the evidence.”

Tommy stepped forward and nodded. “Yes, Mr. Storm.”

Dexter’s eyes widened, still not willing to give in. He couldn’t understand why Zaden would take Athena’s side.

The truth was, this whole mess started with Rachel.

If he hadn’t been so eager to please Rachel–thinking she was going to be the next Mrs. Storm -none of this would have happened to him. Now, not only had he lost his job, but he was also facing charges for harassment and attempted assault.

If this news made it home, his wife would never let him off the hook.

Dexter clenched his jaw and said, “Mr. Storm! I didn’t target her on purpose. Ms. Jynn was upset and told me to deal with her. I’m just a scapegoat!”

When Athena heard Dexter’s words, she immediately put the pieces together.

So that woman really was targeting me, and Dexter was just acting on her orders. But who is this Ms. Jynn to Zaden?

Zaden shot Dexter a frosty look. “The Ms. Jynn you mentioned has nothing to do with me. If you let just anyone order you around, you really need to get your head checked.

“Tommy, take him out of here.”

He then added, “And don’t forget to help Ms. Hall gather evidence.”

Dexter felt completely wronged. Rachel was sent here by Mrs. Storm herself and was clearly introduced as Zaden’s future.

And now, Zaden was actually denying her identity?

But it was too late for regrets.

Tommy took Dexter away, and Athena finally breathed a sigh of relief. She looked up at Zaden and said, “Mr. Storm, thank you for handling this so fairly.”

matter.”

With that, Athena left.

Zaden watched her go, and for a split second, a faint emotion flickered across his heart–one that he barely noticed.
