“Alright then. Let’s work together. I truly believe we’ll make it,” Alicia said quietly. “And for the gallery split, just give me 20%.”

The three of them looked at each other uncertainly.

Sara couldn’t help but smile and immediately threw her arms around Alicia. “Miss Lawrence, you are so nice.”

After that, she muttered under her breath, “I knew it, I just knew you’re nothing like Tiffany. If Tiffany really was the Sweetheart Queen and those paintings were hers, there’s no way she’d ever help us.”

Alicia looked at her with a laugh and asked, “Why do you say that?”

Sara thought for a moment before blurting out, “She’s got zero manners, and she’s definitely not the kind- hearted type. Remember that day you guys had the competition at the Crown Hotel? We actually wanted to sign the Sweetheart Queen at first cause her art looked amazing. Of course, that was before we found out those paintings weren’t even hers! So, we were waiting for her at the entrance, and, oh man, she pulled up in a Maserati, showing off like crazy. She sped in, blasted us with exhaust-didn’t even glance at her fans. Seriously, it’s like we were invisible!”

As Sara kept ranting, Zoe tried tugging her sleeve a few times, but she just waved her off. “Come on, why are you pulling me? I’m just being honest here,” she said, turning to Zoe.

Chloe shot Alicia an awkward smile. “It’s not that we’re trying to kick Tiffany while she’s down or anything. But honestly, her buddy really was acting super arrogant that day, driving like they owned the world.”

She and Zoe were quick to explain themselves, nervous that Alicia might think they were just fair-weather friends who only follow whoever’s ahead.

Alicia gave a light laugh. “They’ve always been so full of themselves.”

Hearing that, the girls breathed a sigh of relief.

Just then, the food they’d ordered started arriving at the table.

Alicia decided to steer the conversation away from Tiffany and smiled, “Hey, do you think I could swing by the gallery sometime and check it out?”

Sara jumped in right away. “Of course!”

Zoe and Chloe both nodded. Chloe said, “Come whenever you like! Sometimes we’re all there, sometimes just a couple of us, but at least one of us is always around.”

Alicia nodded. “Awesome, I’ll stop by this weekend. Anyway, let’s dig in! The place might look tiny, but the food here is surprisingly good…”

Alicia started telling them all about the dishes at the place, sharing little tips and stories as she went.

The four girls had a blast-laughing, chatting, and enjoying themselves way more than they’d expected. They’d always thought Alicia would be a little standoffish, with that glamorous, icy vibe, but she turned out to

By the end of the meal, they all felt way closer than before.

After the meal, Chloe got up to pay, but the owner told her Alicia had already taken care of it.

The three girls looked a bit sheepish. “Here we are hoping you’ll sign with us, and you end up treating us!”

Alicia just laughed. “Hey, we’re working together now-it’s not all me helping you. Honestly, you’re helping me out, too! I need money just like everyone else, and thanks to you, my paintings will earn cash, and I’ll get a share of your gallery’s profits. I’m actually the one scoring here. Since you’re basically my patrons, it’s only right I treat you to dinner!”

Even though Alicia said all that, they all knew deep down that with her current fame and skills, she could easily sign with a gallery way bigger than theirs if she wanted.

That just made them like Alicia even more, and they felt truly grateful to her.

As they stepped out of the restaurant, Alicia turned to the girls and grinned, “Hey, can we put the painting of mine that was shown at the Crown Hotel up for sale in your gallery now?”

The girls hadn’t expected Alicia to trust them with such an important piece, and they all lit up with excitement. “Absolutely! No problem at all-leave it to us! We promise, we’ll get you the best price out there!”

“You guys decide how to handle it, I trust you,” Alicia replied lightly. “I’ll drop off the painting this weekend.”

“Awesome!” The three girls nodded, practically bouncing with enthusiasm.

Maria returned to the hospital, visibly upset. Tiffany anxiously asked, “Mom, how did it go? Did Alicia agree?”

Maria looked at her daughter, who was so full of hope, and just couldn’t bring herself to tell her the truth.

But when Tiffany saw how downcast her mom seemed, she realized immediately that it hadn’t worked out.

She grabbed Maria by the arm and anxiously pressed her, “Did you not go see her? Or what happened? Tell me already!”

“I went,” Maria huffed, still furious. “That Alicia actually roped in some people to gang up on me-her own mother!”

Maria wanted to complain more to Tiffany, but Tiffany cut her off, not interested in hearing any of Maria’s grievances. All she cared about was whether her mom had really pleaded with Alicia.

‘Alicia’s always craving a mother’s love,’ Tiffany fretted. ‘If Mom had just swallowed her pride and asked, Alicia would’ve definitely caved. Since it didn’t work out, Mom must’ve chickened out and not begged her for real!’

She gripped Maria’s shoulders, impatient. “Mom, just tell me-exactly how did you talk to Alicia?”

Maria drew a breath to vent her own frustrations, but Tiffany didn’t give her the chance.
