He nodded. “I’m not going with you. Tristan’s asked me to go overseas.”

When Nolan stepped out of Halbert’s apartment, Eliza immediately asked, looking tense, “My brother didn’t give you a hard time, did he?”

Nolan shook his head.

“Good. He didn’t like you before, but now he’s promised me he won’t go after you anymore.”

“He only wants what’s best for you. You have a good family.”

Nolan ruffled her hair, though he shared Halbert’s concern that going abroad might be too dangerous. Still, if he wasn’t with her, he wouldn’t be at ease.

Just then his assistant called – the tickets were ready. They needed to head to the airport at

once.

A day later, the plane finally landed.

When Wendy stepped off her private jet, Saint Corp’s top executives were waiting for her at the airport.

One stepped forward. “The company is holding a shareholders‘ meeting. Your presence is required.”

“I know.”

She’d been aware of the meeting before she boarded. She was curious to see what tricks that brat thought he could pull. Did he really think he could take Saint Corp from her? Dream on.

On the flight, Eliza pored over Saint Corp’s overseas records. She noticed Leo had devoted himself to healthcare and education, which made him seem like a decent man.

“According to this, Leo had a son with his ex–wife. That son is now a general manager at Saint Corp. He’s Leo’s only child, yet he only holds such a minor role? That seems odd. Could that be Wendy’s doing?”

As Leo’s sole heir, the least he should have been was a major shareholder.

Yet when Eliza tried to find the son’s name or photo, there was nothing. The file contained almost no information about him, as if he’d never existed at Saint Corp at all.
